Here’s one for the list: why is that a smaller waist and larger hips are considered ideal but THEY DONT MAKE JEANS FOR THEM!?
M- M- Melon?! (18 hours ago)
For me, they waited don't fit past my heel, or the legs fit perfectly, but the waist is way too big

The only function size serves is when you're trying on clothes in the store. If the garment is too loose, you go down a number, if it's too tight, you do up a number. That's the last time you need to know the size of that garment.

I once looked at sizing charts because I was online shopping and found I was almost the largeset size at kookaï (an Australian brand) and the second smallest at forever 21

I'm 5,2ft (160 cm) tall and have very wide hips for my height. To that comes, that I have pretty short legs, thin ankles but big thighs. I'm comfortable with my body, but nothing in stores fits. It's too long, too tight, too wide or simply unflattering and that makes me sad, because it's rubbing me in the face, how my proportions don't fit the beauty standards,
Molly Stringer (1 month ago)
I went into a store to get a pair of black pants: they could be jeans, dress pants, joggers,, anything but leggings. Every single size 8 I grabbed was different. Some were too small, others were too loose, most were too short. It was ridiculous. I ended up just buying a pair of black jeans from american eagle where I know my size.

Women sizes should just be like Men's sizes. Measure the waist and leg lenth. I wear a 32Wx32L inch pants for example. Legs about 32 inches long. waist 32 inches circumference. Pants can also come boot cut, regular, straight, slim straight, or slim to compensate for the size and comfort of legs being tailor made. Shirts for Men usually go by the neck circumference and the arm length. I wear a 15 1/2 Neck 34-35 arm length. Shirts can either be regular fit or slim or loose. And then your have the standard xs,s,m,l,xl,xxl, xxxl, xxxxl, xxxxxl for shirts and/pants that offer a general size

Literally fashion brands are causing suicides and bullying because they are like ( these are just examples ) Zara 4 Extremelly big on friend Hollister 4 Doesent fit in you "Omg u are so fat, i am not big enough for 4 while u cant fit in it lol u are so fat, thats why you should be anorexic and be a b**ch like me lol " Its also a problem when you have a body size that is considered fat in popular brands and the ones focused in ig body types consides you anorexic Another reason to hate fashion and shopping

I just measured myself, and buy clothes that are the most pefrect fitting and a bit bigger so i can just tailor it to actually fit me perfectly. Its a hassle sometimes but at least I can make things look good on me and not just wish they would lol.
Armando Sturzenegger (2 months ago)
hey, honest question with all due respect. It seems quite uncomfortable for woman in general that in the middle section between your legs sometimes the jeans or pants are to tight.. and when you sit down i feel the pain at distance... everything inside looks hella tight and not free at all... similar situation happens with a tight bra.
JamKrisPOP (2 months ago)
Women clothes don't make sense. Seriously, is it a big deal women's pants have functional pockets? I don't want to always carry a bag, just put my phone, keys and wallet in my pockets to go out. Easy peasy.

I've never quite understood women's sizes (as a lifelong single male I never had to pay attention). I'm literally a walking twig, 6 feet tall and 130 pounds, and I fit in 30" waist and 34" length trousers. I've seen that waist size translated to women's sizes an it's literally size 2 to 6. SIZE TWO TO SIZE SIX. For a 30" waist- which is quite skinny. I never understood why I have heard women complaining about their bodies or their clothes until I found out that one size in men's- a simple 30" waist; is a size 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 in women's. Honestly I think that is bullshit.
Jessie (2 months ago)
can the make clothes for people who are skinny like me cos everything is too big, size 4s just are 2 big and im not even super lanky or anything

Lets just get straight to the point in which we all know but hate.... Obesity is rising every year, people are going from being just 10 -20 pounds overweight to now 50 60, 70 ,80, 90 and 100lbs over weight. But women are more into their looks then men so they want to be told they are fine, so Vanity sizing gets more out of wack, pushing women who are naturally smaller out of the size chart and hiding bigger women in smaller sizes to make women feel better about themselves. While saying "There's nothing wrong with your body, you're fine just the way you are" Guys aren't gonna care as much since look are mainly focused and pressured on females. The bigger we keep growing, vanity sizing will just get more out of control. The end

Have you ever wore jeans the fits the length perfectly yet so huge on the waist? It makes me feels that my stomach is flat HAHA
Is it just me, or do the women at 2:00 - 2:14 look perfectly healthy...not "malnourished"?

I have found sizes that don't correlate to the measuring tape and Why not say inches rather than numbers. I don't buy ladies clothes often because of that fact.

In my hood, if someone buy a ready-made clothes, they usually put it in front of their body and then just try it without see the number. If it's not fit, they just ask for something bigger or smaller.

Not knowing the other coutries' sizing charts and not remembering the ones used around here helps keep away the size anxiety lmao but at the same time I need to try on all pants and often just opt for leggings instead...

This makes me so sad. I have an eating disorder so it’s quite hard for me to look at clothing sizes. It feels like it’s made to make us feel like are bodies are wrong and need to be better. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are
Liz Skelton (3 months ago)
Top shop is a British company, the UK sizes differently than the US . A British size 4 is closer to an American size 0.
In NZ, US size 8 is still a 12. 16 is still a 20, take a US size and add 4

Then there is an issue of when 1 size difference is like 20 inches. "hmm I'm close I'll just change 1 size aaaaand now it can't get into it"
Emme Yott (3 months ago)
The real reason why sizes make no sense is not the fact that various brands use different numbers for the same sizes, it's the very fact that sizes don't exist. We're not just bigger and smaller versions of the same body, we have different proportions. If it was all just about finding my size every time I buy from a new brand, that wouldn't be so horrible. The problem is that I need to reject many brands altogether because they are not made for my body type. My waist is in one size and my hips are 3 sizes away. It fits comfortably around the bust but has ridiculously small sleeves....
Lisa Bornfree (3 months ago)
I knew all along the sizes are not correct. Different brands, different sizes as the years goes by. Guys don't get frustrated when you go shopping with females 😂😂

It's sad women's jeans arents sized like men's.... Like I'm 34x36 Regular Fitted in Men's but what is that in women's sizing?
deecakes (3 months ago)
The more annoying thing is when I use the size chart to buy something based on my exact measurements and the clothes are still too big.
The MadCatter (3 months ago)
thats annoying. i want to be able to go into the store, find my size, and leave. but nooo
Kristina Sandnes (3 months ago)
It’s a struggle finding clothes in ONE size. It’s different everywhere! I can wear anything from XS to M.
auburn.honey (3 months ago)
And this is why is impossible to buy clothing online. Even though they give a *rough* estimate of what the measurements are for each size, when purchasing pants or jeans from online markets that sell different brands of clothing it's just impossible to have a sizing chart (with measurements) for every single brand. So they have one for the website and you have a 50/50 chance of it being accurate. I've ordered 2 pair of jeans from the same online retailer, both the same size, one fit me fine and the other wouldn't go passed my thighs lol. It's a nightmare. Which is another reason why women take much longer to shop than men. We literally have to try on all our clothes before purchasing them. The easiest solution is to label pants and jeans by height and waist, just like men's pants.

I'm fat and averagely a size 18 so I would always be second guessing my size when I would see women clearly bigger than me wear a size 14 now I know why
Rachelcookie321 (4 months ago)
I have the weirdest body shape ever. I have a hourglass shape. (My waist is average my bust and hips are huge.) I also have big thighs and am pretty short. Shopping for jeans is really hard for more. I have to belt jeans from the curvy section and the belt never sits right. The belt tends to do a straight line across my stomach while the jeans sit in a V shape. Wearing skirts is also really hard because they’re usually REALLY short at the back.
Clarity Ashtons (4 months ago)
At banana republic I'm a size 00 and it's frustrating to find that size while at H&M I'm around 14 or 16 in pants while at rainows I'm just a medium in pants
Sarah Allen (4 months ago)
I disagree with that last quote, it's a good one, but it's assuming that I found pants that actually fit me. The real reason why there's a problem with the sizing numbers is because of the inconsistencies. It's difficult to find a size that fits when you don't even know where to start for different brands.
Marcus Susnjara (4 months ago)
This is just an excuse for women to buy clothes
Lars's Wig (4 months ago)
This is why I get my clothes tailored. Jeans, however, I have to buy. Tailoring jeans would be way too expensive. Besides, where I live, the sizing system is extra small (for babies ya know) small, medium, extra large, extra extra large, and extra extra extra large. Similar to the number thing, since no sizes are the same in different brands.
Alex Reddo (4 months ago)
This is similar to men’s trainers
Purplebluecrow (4 months ago)
How did that lady say "its bc women are getting bigger" but Marylin Monroe would be considered too big to be considered thin, and would be put into a medium LAMO. It's more likely that it's bc most ppl see the thinner the woman the more attractive regardless of health and want to make more girls loose weight to try and be that nearly unattainable weight we see as perfect beauty
Allen A (4 months ago)
My girlfriend says that there is no logic to sizing in her clothes. She tries everything on at the store and reads every size chart for each garment online before buying anything. Even then, some clothes have the wrong labels sewn into them because they are made and sold by people who don't speak English and who use the Metric System instead of inches. This can lead to mistakes in sewing them that can be somewhat interesting. Then there are the mistakes in pulling orders at the warehouse. I once ordered jeans in 40 waist, 34 inseam and got 44 waist, 30 inseam. I assume that the worker was dyslexic.
Riti Aggarwal (4 months ago)
In India the sizing isn’t like size 2 and size 8 and whatnot bullshit, it’s just the size of your waist in inches marked inside the jeans that we go by. It’s much easier as I can predict what waist size I want depending on whether the jeans are skinny or loose, high or low waisted etc. I never understood what the sizing chart meant in every video from every American YouTuber I saw, and now that I do, I must say it’s not as convenient as ours.

Because women clothes aren't really meant for a woman's body type. It's meant for transgenders.

Waist measurement, measurements around the widest part of booty for gifted girls, and leg length. All in inches like men’s jeans. No way for some companies to make inches smaller and mess it up.
