The Art of Product Management with Sachin Rekhi (ENG’05 W’05)

01:07:06
Product managers drive the vision, strategy, design, and execution of their product. While one can often quickly comprehend the basic responsibilities of the role, mastering each of these dimensions is truly an art form that one is constantly honing. In this presentation I'll share my lessons learned over the last decade as a product manager in Silicon Valley on the art behind each of these dimensions of product management. Sachin Rekhi is a serial entrepreneur and product leader who has spent the last decade developing innovative products in Silicon Valley. Sachin most recently founded Connected, a professional contact manager that was acquired by LinkedIn in 2011 and re-launched as LinkedIn Contacts. He went on become head of product for LinkedIn Sales Navigator, LinkedIn's flagship offering for sales professionals. Prior to Connected, Sachin founded Anywhere.FM, a web music player that allowed users to upload, play, and discover music online, which was acquired by imeem in 2008. Sachin started his career at Microsoft as a product lead on Visual Studio, Microsoft's developer tools platform. Sachin recently left LinkedIn and has been advising early-stage startups on product strategy, design, and growth.

HBS OR WHARTON OR KELLOGG? HOW TO SELECT B-SCHOOLS!

08:32
So, you have decided to apply to business schools this year? Great! You have come to the right place. I hope most of your pre-application things are going great (i.e. the GMAT, selecting your recommenders, figuring out your resume and accomplishments). I am sure you have been looking at the rankings and staring starry-eyed at the likes of Harvard, Stanford and Wharton. We all did. But selecting schools is probably a mix of art and science that takes careful and cautionary tread. I have been through this process enough to have a few cents to share, so I hope you find this useful : Check in every week to find MBA Application videos on GMAT Club channel on Youtube. How to Get into Wharton? A Detailed Analysis of Wharton MBA Application Essay!

14:11
In this video, we are going to show you what you need to do if you’re looking at applying to the Wharton MBA program 2018-19. What truly differentiates Wharton is that though it is known as a finance school, more importantly, it has a certain quantitative rigor to it. There is a lot of focus on quantitative skills, analytical skills and a lot of rigorous thinking. If you’re a person who likes that, Wharton is the place for you. Second, among all the top schools, Wharton has the most diverse profile. It has the highest percentage of international students among the top schools, and that provides you with rich classroom experience and outside classroom experience. It is not just the country they represent but also the functions. In that way, Wharton is truly global. Third, you probably have to pick the flexible curriculum. There is a fixed core course but you have the flexibility right in your first year to pick a lot of electives. This is great for people who feel they don’t want to have the rigidity of a course where they are told what they have to study. Once you’re done with the basics – statistics, accounts and economics and all of the required courses, you can pick and choose what you want to do. 2017-2018 Wharton Essay Questions Essay 1 (Required) What do you hope to gain professionally from the Wharton MBA? (500 words) Essay 2 (Required) Describe an impactful experience or accomplishment that is not reflected elsewhere in your application. How will you use what you learned through that experience to contribute to the Wharton community? (400 words) If you are looking for help with your MBA application essays the feel free to reach out to us at https://crackverbal.com/apps

Arm yourself with the essential principles and practices of marketing in the digital economy by making this course, taught by Internet consumer shopping expert and Wharton professor David Bell, an indispensable part of your knowledge base. In this business and management course, you will gain an understanding of how the digital economy works and develop the critical insights necessary to succeed in e-commerce and digital and social media marketing. The fixed and mobile Internet and related technologies exert a profound influence on how business and social institutions evolve, how they are challenged—and sometimes, even displaced. Companies that were non-existent a few short years ago, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Uber, have dramatically changed how we interact, communicate and get from point A to B. Even Amazon and Google are relatively “young” by any measure. If you’re an entrepreneur, investor, manager, or student, you need thoughtful approaches to navigate and win in this new environment. This course is organized around four broad themes and we will use relevant theory and analysis, as well as numerous practical examples to develop our key learning points. The themes are: - Behavioral foundations for understanding and navigating the new online-offline landscape - New forms of interaction, including formation of networks and reputation building - Tools and principles of digital marketing action including online advertising on fixed and mobile devices - New media platforms and emergence of “organic” celebrities and communities This course is beneficial to marketing professionals, analysts, entrepreneurs, small business owners, investors, and consumers This course evolved from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School’s very first course on digital marketing and e-commerce.

Trump got his degree in 1968, and almost 50 years later, he still can’t stop talking about it. “I went to the Wharton School of Business,” he’ll have you know. “I’m, like, a really smart person.” Here's What The Wharton School Of Business Really Thinks Of Donald Trump // News World He has called Wharton “the best school in the world” and “super genius stuff,” and argues that his Wharton degree qualifies him to be president because “we need business genius in this country.” After Trump mocked a New York Times reporter with a congenital joint condition, he later denied having done it, saying: “I would never ― I’m a smart person. I went to the Wharton School of Finance.” But while Trump praises Wharton to the skies, Wharton is straining to say nothing at all. School officials have refused to comment on Trump since he declared his candidacy, even declining to address basic facts about his history there. Penn’s student newspaper, The Daily Pennsylvanian, has always enjoyed good access to Wharton leaders, but when reporter and Wharton student Corey Stern saw in some old records that Trump had once served on a Wharton board of overseers, the school wouldn’t confirm it one way or the other. “If it was Donald Trump’s name, no, no comment on anything,” Stern says. Professor Kevin Werbach taught a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) about "Gamification" to more than 140,000 people from 150 countries, reaching more students in eight months than all of his colleagues combined throughout the 130 year history of the Wharton Business School. The first session of his gamification course had some of the highest rates of engagement and completion of any offering on the Coursera MOOC platform, generating more than 2 million video views and nearly 20,000 forum posts. Professor Werbach will describe how he designed his gamification MOOC, share some of the engagement data and lead a conversation about the future of MOOCs. Werbach served on the Obama Administration's Presidential Transition Team, and later was an expert advisor to both the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Commerce. A pioneer in the emerging field of gamification, he was voted Wharton's first Iron Prof for his presentation, "All I Really Needed to Know I Learned in World of Warcraft," and he co-authored the book "For the Win."
