Tips for Trading the FTSE 100 Index 👍
● Trading the UK FTSE 100. http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/indices/spread-betting-ftse.html ● You can trade the FTSE at InterTrader http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/intertrader/intertrader.html ✔ Please like the video and comment if you enjoyed - it helps a lot! But what is the FTSE 100? The FTSE 100 market consists of an index that is constituted of the 100 largest listed companies in the United Kingdom by market capitalization. All these companies are listed on the London Stock Exchange. However you should note that the FTSE is a Market-Cap weighted average – so the share price of large companies such as BP and Vodafone will have a bigger impact than those of smaller ones such as Cadbury or ICI. A common misconception that the FTSE 100 is a pure representative of the UK economy. This simply isn’t true; research from Citibank shows that around 75% of the revenues of FTSE 100 companies came from outside the UK. Even more surprisingly, most of the top 10 FTSE 100 companies report their results in US Dollars rather than Sterling. The largest company in the FTSE 100 that could properly be described as a British is Tesco, and even the supermarket behemoth is increasingly exposed to international markets.

Should you Trade the FTSE 100 or the DAX 30? 🔑
★ Should you trade the FTSE 100 or the DAX? ★ Trade FTSE or DAX at http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/intertrader/intertrader.html InterTrader ★ If you found value in watching this video, PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE so we can do more! You decided you want to trade the European indices; maybe it suits the time you have available or you like the way they move..etc But you see a lot of people trading the FTSE 100 and plenty of others concentrating on the DAX 30. Which one should you trade? Both are based on big economies - the FTSE 100 lists the biggest 100 listed companies in the UK while the DAX 30 lists the biggest listed 30 companies in Germany. Spread Margin Hours Range InterTrader will allow you to trade the FTSE and the DAX from 1pt spread which is quite good. Between 8 o'clock and 4.30pm when the cash market is open the spread will remain 1pt. After 4.30pm to 9pm UK time the spread goes slightly wider to 2pts. After 9pm the spread goes up to 4pts. Margin is 0.5% which means you can even trade with a smaller account. At the moment the average true range for the FTSE is about 60 points. I think the FTSE is less volatile and more steady than the DAX but spreads are very similar. From 7am till 8am InterTrader will offer the Dax at 2pts spread. After 8am the DAX 30 will be quoted at just 1 point spread. The Dax goes to 5pts spread after hours. If you're day trading between 8am and 4.30 pm the bid-offer spread offered at 1pt is very competitive. Margin is again 0.5% which means you can even trade with a smaller account. Currently the daily range for the DAX is about 150 points. Dax can be a very volatile instrument and it be quite brutal. If you like action and spikes coming out of nowhere then the DAX is for you.

Trends to Avoid - Why I'm Not Trading FTSE 100 (22 May 2018)
There are some situations where we can trade a reversal against a trend and even if we lose some trades, we know that the probability and risk:reward makes it worthwhile. However, there are other situations when we should completely avoid the trend and not get lured in, even if it's interacting with our significant levels. In this video, we explain why. Kamal's Two Trade FTSE 100 System
★ Kamal's Two Trade FTSE 100 System ★ You can trade the FTSE 100 at InterTrader http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/intertrader/intertrader.html ★ If you found value in watching this video, PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE so we can do more! Kamal Warren, a FTSE 100 day trader explains how he opens two positions at the same time.. In all honesty nobody can predict the exact entries, so on most occasions when you open a trade and you put a target level, and your trade hits the profit level - sometimes the market moves even more. What is the best way to capture the additional move? The only way I can think of that is by opening two trades, so I have the first trade which has a profit level and when the market reaches the take profit level I close the first trade while moving my second trade to breakeven. As such my first trade yields a profit while I have a free ride on the second trade and I tend to close the second trade when the market closes. A clarification on Kamal's two trade system: Opening 2 simultaneous trades. The first will have a profit target and the second moved to breakeven when the first hits target. So if you risk 3% per trade each will be 1.5% risk. It takes a bit of getting used to because when you get it wrong, you get 3% wiped out, but not all the time your second trade will be winning but over time the bigger moves will pay dividends.

Tips for Trading the FTSE 250 👍

This is UK's second index, otherwise known as the Mid-Cap index. The FTSE 250 is the Financial Times 250 Index. It started being quoted in 1984 and has more domestic companies than the FTSE 100 and as such is very sensitive to UK economic data. The FTSE 100 has the top 100 companies, The FTSE 250 is the next 250 companies so the 101st to 350th biggest listed companies in the UK. The FTSE 350 is the FTSE 100 and the FTSE 250 combined together. The usual range is around 100 points, it can be quite volatile as there is less liquidity in each of its constituents so you are likely to great broader moves than the FTSE 100. This is not really an index for day trading; bid-offer spreads are wider so its more suited for longer term trades. It can also be used for pair trading strategies.

Do providers really have traders betting £500/point on the FTSE (or more)? http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/ What are some of the biggest trades you’ve witnessed over the years? Daniel Moczulski of Star Financial Systems comments. I remember a client who had 350 million pounds worth of HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) some years ago. Every penny it moved made or lost 16 million pounds! How often do spread betting providers really make use of hedging? What is the typical % of profitable customers? Any statistics for their trades?Providers don't really like taking on risk. How to Day Trade Get 25% off my trading course: https://www.udemy.com/the-123-trading-strategy-learn-to-trade-in-one-hour/?couponCode=youtube123 This day trading strategy in this short video is based on a trade made using Bollinger Bands( a system of measurement around the price action over 20 days) in the ftse 100 market The ' heads up' for the trade is where the price pierces the top or bottom band and then retreats to touch the band or better still close inside it. In most cases the price should now move away in the opposite direction. If this is seen on the daily chart, the trigger for the Ftse100 trade is when the price touches the Bollinger Band MID line the next day, the stop can be placed a few points below this. The exit can be determined by only closing the trade when the price closes over the BB midline. FTSE 100 Index - A Beginners Guide
Brought to you by http://www.HowToInvestInShares.co.uk - this video explains the FTSE 100 Index and introduces the other UK indices too. 0:31 FTSE 100 0:54 What Is An Index? 1:59 The FTSE 100 Index 3:27 Other Main Market Indices 5:11 Alternative Investment Market (AIM) 6:09 Summary 6:30 More information and FREE Guide at http://www.HowToInvestInShares.co.uk The first thing to say about the FTSE 100 is that it is a UK index. Therefore it is to do with shares that are on the London Stock Exchange in the UK and it is an index. So what do we mean by an index. An index is a way of understanding whether the overall market or the shares in the index element of the market have gone up or down over a period of time and by how much. It does this by starting at a point in time and a particular value in time. So in terms of the FTSE 100 index, it was started back in 1983 and it was started with a value of 1,000. That's not a price and it's not a cost. It's just a number, an index number that it started with and at the time of making this video, the FTSE 100 index is round about the 6,000 mark. That means the index has gone up by 6 times in between 1983 and around March-April time of 2012 and by doing so it has vastly outstripped the value of inflation and of bonds and of savings and of any other form of investment that you could have made in that period of time. So what is the FTSE 100 index then? Well, the FTSE 100 index is the top, or the largest, 100 shares on the UK stock market. Of course, as the share prices of those 100 companies change over time, that means the value of those companies change over time and the FTSE 100 index needs to keep in it the top 100 companies. So every quarter, four times per year, the constituents i.e. the companies that sit in that FTSE 100 index, change. So those that are no longer in the top 100 drop out of the index and those that have now grown in size and ought to be in the FTSE index come into the index. In reality, it is a little bit more complicated than that. There are some rules associated with that so they don't get too much change from quarter to quarter but essentially that is the concept. So as we go forward in time, the FTSE 100 index always keeps in it, more or less, the top 100 companies by size. All of the companies in the FTSE 100 index are part of the London main market. As I've said, the FTSE 100 index comprises the largest 100 companies and together they make up about 81% of the total value of all of the companies in the UK main market. The next 250 companies by size are known as Midcaps and they are in the FTSE 250 index and by value they represent about 15% of the total value of the UK main market. Taken together the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 are known as the FTSE 350 index and obviously that makes up about 96% of the value of the companies in the market. The FTSE Smallcap is the next tier of companies and these make up about 2% of the market. If we add together the FTSE 100, the FTSE 250 and the FTSE Smallcap, then we get another index that is known as the FTSE All Share index. There are yet even more companies that are far too small to be in any of those other indexes that I have already mentioned and they sit in what is known as the FTSE Fledgling index, which when added to the other indices mentioned, comprise the UK main market in total. Now, as well as the main market there is another market known as the Alternative Investment Market or AIM, for short. This was set up fairly recently and its purpose was to allow smaller companies to come onto the London Stock Exchange and therefore to raise finance for their business by getting investors to buy their shares. The rules associated with AIM companies are not as stringent or as difficult to qualify for as they are on the main index. Hence why AIM companies, AIM shares, are classed as a bit riskier than those on the main index because the rules to qualify as an AIM company and float on the AIM market are not as stringent. So are you essentially day trading the FTSE? I think the FTSE 100 generally trades within a range; at least about 75% of the time. With the FTSE 100 if it goes too far in one direction, it is likely to go back in the other direction. It is one of those markets that has a tendency to revert to the mean. I prefer range bound markets which suits my trading style.

FTSE 100 Spread Betting Tips
FTSE 100 Spread Betting Tips by David Morrison of Spread Co http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/spreadbetting/compare-spreads.html Trading the FTSE. What are requirements for a company to join FTSE 100? Are the FTSE, Dow Jones, S&P 500 and other major financial indices calculated the same way? If not, how are they differentiated? What are some of the pecularities for trading the FTSE index? What is the difference between the FTSE and DAX exchanges? I think the important thing about the FTSe 100 is to look carefully at the constituents and which stocks are playing a dominant role in it. More recently we had banks and as of late we had miners.
