6 Eating Habits to Read People Like Open Books

09:10
Is there a person in your life you simply can't crack? Just ask them out for a meal! According to experts, our food preferences, the way we eat, and how we behave during mealtime reveal a lot about our character. Our eating habits are highly instinctual and even if we try to fake them, the real ones will reveal themselves in the end. All you need to do is carefully look at the way someone eats to reveal a few of their character traits. Bright Side would like to present 9 of the most common eating styles that speak volumes about our personality and show even more about our behavioral patterns. TIMESTAMPS: How they make an order 0:56 How they eat pizza 2:08 The type of dish they choose 3:33 How they behave at the table 5:10 How their plate looks 6:23 The type of dessert they choose 7:46 #eatinghabits #yourpersonality #readingpeople Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - If someone carefully looks through the menu and asks a waiter certain questions, they tend to be quite indecisive in real life too. But it’s not all bad! These people are really attentive to details as well, which makes them great leaders. - Those who just take a huge bite of pizza without giving it too much thought live their life to the fullest. They're into making memories and having wild and fun experiences. - If your mealtime partner uses a fork and knife to eat their pizza, then they’re formal, steady, and well-mannered. - People who love spicy foods and can't pass an opportunity to add more chili pepper to their dish are adventurers and risk-takers. Those who love exotic dishes are pretty similar: they're always up for anything daring and fun. - Choosing a salad made of fresh fruit or vegetables reveals a conscientious and introverted person. These types of people take their food choices seriously and don't have any problems with keeping it healthy. - Slow eaters are confident and harmonious. They like to be in control and can be a bit arrogant at times. But their ability to appreciate life certainly makes up for it! Fast eaters are usually impatient. They're full of ambitions and ready to take the world by storm. - If you see someone making little groups of different ingredients, they're natural-born organizers. And it's not only about food. Their workplace and home are perfectly tidy and orderly as well. - People who don't mind putting different dishes on one plate are incredibly responsible. Nonetheless, they're not that good at sorting out their priorities and, therefore, can drown in tons of tasks. - If your opponent starts by cutting the dish into perfect little pieces, they prefer to be prepared for anything and everything. Stability is the basis of their life. - Ice cream is the favorite dessert of charismatic and charming people who effortlessly turn heads wherever they go. - Cake lovers are believed to be fantastic listeners and captivating storytellers. They're the masters of socializing, have tons of friends, and take center stage at every party they go to. - If your opponent chooses cookies, they're really adaptable. They seem to change a bit every time you see them. How Long Foods Stay In Your Stomach

08:18
How long does the process of digestion last? Do you find yourself still hungry no matter how much you eat? If so, you might be eating foods that are too high on the glycemic index. It’s definitely something worth knowing if you’re struggling with excess weight. The glycemic index is a system of values given to foods according to how quickly they cause an increase in blood glucose levels. To put that in layman’s terms, it basically measures how fast different foods are digested by the body. Glucose is a simple sugar that gives your body energy, and you get it from the foods you eat. Your blood is what carries this sugar throughout your body to all your hungry cells and tissues. That’s why it’s called blood glucose. If you eat something that’s high on the index, your blood glucose will spike, giving you a fast boost of energy. TIMESTAMPS: What glycemic index is 0:58 Foods that digest slowly 3:30 Foods that digest moderately 4:08 Foods that digest quickly 4:34 Foods that don’t have a glycemic index value 5:27 What about pizza? 6:09 Are all low-glycemic foods healthy? 6:43 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The glycemic index is a system of values given to foods according to how quickly they cause an increase in blood glucose levels. To put that in layman’s terms, it basically measures how fast different foods are digested by the body. - If you eat something that’s high on the index, your blood glucose will spike, giving you a fast boost of energy. - Foods and drinks are actually split into three groups: low, medium, and high. Low items rate from 1 to 55, medium is from 56 to 69, and high items are from 70 and above. - According to the experts at Bodytomy, some low-glycemic foods, like cooked vegetables or a salad, can remain in your stomach anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. - There are also foods that really don’t really have a glycemic index value since they don’t contain any carbs. But they can still take a while to be digested by your stomach. It can take you anywhere from 2 to 5 hours for your stomach to digest meats, like chicken, lamb, and pork. - If you’re having pizza that’s just dough, cheese, and sauce, that might rate high on the glycemic index, mostly because of that dough. But believe it or not, adding toppings actually makes your slice healthier! - You might encounter foods that will be low on the index, but if they’re processed, they most likely still contain tons of saturated fats, sugar, and empty calories. Why Japanese Are So Thin According to Science

09:37
Why are Japanese people so thin? What do people eat in Japan? While the rest of the world is seeing anywhere from 15 to over 30% of its population severely overweight, Japan has managed to keep that number at just 3.6%. When it comes to health tips, it's better to turn to the country with the longest life expectancy and one of the lowest obesity rates on the planet. If you’re ready to find out how the Japanese manage to stay so effortlessly thin, keep our new video! In Japan, they usually stick to 3 wholesome meals a day that don’t leave them hungry or dealing with sudden cravings. Those who do snack keep it in small quantities and with a lot of moderation. Also, the secret to Japan’s success begins with their diet, which is pretty carb-heavy and low in saturated fats. Their main dishes of choice include vegetables, grains, fish, and meat. Dairy products and fruits are consumed in moderation. They tend to stay away from foods with excessive amounts of salt and sugar, like burgers and soda. TIMESTAMPS: Diet 0:50 No snacking 1:39 Fast food 2:02 Eating on time 2:58 Exercise for kids 3:44 Portion sizes 4:27 A great public transportation system 5:20 Tea time 6:15 Dinnerware 7:25 Food as an experience 8:09 #japan #japanesediet #japanesefood Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The secret to Japan’s success begins with their diet, which is pretty carb-heavy and low in saturated fats. Their main dishes of choice include vegetables, grains, fish, and meat. - Just like the rest of the world, a lot of Japanese people have a hectic schedule that doesn’t leave a lot of time or opportunity to prepare a home-cooked meal. In that case, they can turn to their version of fast food, which is usually a lot healthier and resembles home-style cooking. - Most Japanese people have very regulated meal times. They eat 3 filling meals a day, with breakfast usually happening between 8 and 9am, lunch from 12 to 1pm, and dinner between 6 and 8pm. - It’s a lot more common for Japanese children to walk or cycle to school. Of course, other countries have a lot of reasons why it might not be efficient or safe for kids to hoof it to class. - Portion sizes have been on a steep rise in the last 20 years throughout the world. For example, countries like Australia, Canada, Germany, the U.S., and the U.K. have much larger fast food portions than Japan. - Separate bicycle lanes and plenty of safe areas for pedestrians are common sites in Japan. This allows the Japanese to naturally burn calories as they commute to and from work or school every day. - Tea, especially the green variety, is the number one beverage in Japan. Green tea has been praised for having a ton of major health benefits, like increasing metabolism, burning fat, fighting anxiety, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, to name a few. - The practice of using chopsticks also helps in weight management, since they make you eat more slowly and in smaller bites. This slow process of eating helps people catch when they’re feeling full and avoid eating too much. The fact that food is served on a bunch of plates also slows down the process. - The number one way that the Japanese stay thin has to do with removing distractions and being mindful about the process of food consumption. Eating in Japan is treated with respect. 5 FOODS YOU NEED TO AVOID TO LOSE WEIGHT

06:01
We tend to think of fruit as a low-calorie and healthy food, eating it for snacks and even instead of dinner. However, this habit is not correct for every kind of fruit. Many of them contain too much sugar — almost as much as chocolate! Honestly, the first one is the biggest surprise on this list! TIMESTAMPS Apricots 0:50 Pears 1:48 Avocados 2:44 Grapes 3:23 Bananas 4:36 #healthyfruits #loseweight SUMMARY - Apricots are quite heavy. Too many apricots may lead to indigestion, but the main danger is in the stone. If you like eating the insides of the apricot stones, you should know they contain amygdalin, which forms hydrogen cyanide in the stomach. It’s a potent poison that may cause nausea, dizziness, and fainting if consumed in large amounts. - Melons and watermelons contain lots of fiber and water, quickly satiating you and having a diuretic effect. These berries help remove toxins and fight such conditions as cellulite and acne. They’re a great help when it’s hot, restoring the water balance, which is also crucial for a good figure and skin. - Avocado isn’t a product you’d eat on a diet. It’s sometimes called "butter fruit," and for a reason: its energy value is 227 kcal. Avocados are better used as stuffing or spread in small amounts. Thanks to a low sugar content, vitamin C, and antioxidants, forest berries won’t harm your figure. - Grapes are, on the contrary, among the worst fruit both for your figure and for your overall health. Grapes contain a lot of sugar, their rind is hard to digest, the seeds can congest the intestines, and acids in them damage tooth enamel. - Bananas are the most "energetic" fruit. They digest slowly, and scientists recently found certain substances in them that block the activity of cells responsible for fat splitting. If you want to lose weight fast, choose grapefruit instead. Grapefruit is number 1 in the fight against excess weight because of its powerful fat-burning qualities. Grapefruit enzymes help actively process calories. Of course, not everyone eats as we do. Around the world, different regions and cultures eat a variety of foods which we have never seen or even heard of. Fruits, meats and spices come in different forms and have varying importance depending on where you live. Often, cultural practices and regional restrictions dictate what many people in different regions eat. For instance, maritime countries often have a bounty of seafood with fewer dishes related to beef or pork. Other nations may have diets high in chicken or lamb while some may rely heavily on vegetable and fruit based diets. All of this variety results in a world where the definition of what constitutes food is very broad. For instance, the fried tarantula treat of south-east Asia doesn’t seem out of place to the indigenous population. However, bring some fried eight-legged treats to North America and we’re betting more than a few people would be grossed out. There is such a broad variety of things that people are willing to eat that naturally some dangerous items work their way into the diet. In North America and Europe we think of things like fast and processed food as being dangerous because in the long run the preservatives, sugars, salts and fats can have harmful effects on our bodies. Heart disease, obesity, stroke and cancers are just a few of the dangers associated with our diet. What about the rest of the world. Indeed, throughout the rest of the world there are foods that can be as dangerous, if not more dangerous, than the terrible things we put in our bodies. Just because these regions don’t have as close ties with processed and fatty foods as we do doesn’t mean there aren’t a few killer foods hanging around. In fact, rather than kill you slowly over time, these exotic foods can often strike quickly. The irony with many of these foods is that they trade the long term negative health effects found in North American food for a rapid and often poison related death. In many of the following examples, the exotic foods are extremely popular and consumed in great quantity every year. The catch is that they need to be prepared very carefully and in very specific ways in order to ensure there is no danger. Poisonous fish, deadly fruits and potentially harmful meats are the types of exotic foods most of us would stay away from because they seem gross and liable to kill you. The funny thing is that to anyone from outside of the Western World, the same thing could be said about much of the modern diet we consume on a regular basis. It’s just a matter of picking your poison. (1) The current treatment involves inspecting the common bile and pancreatic ducts for a small stone, or a surgical procedure that cuts the sphincter muscle in order to relax the sphincter enough to allow the bile to flow. The risks of pancreatitis from this procedure are high and, according to the new JAMA study, it is not a viable option. (1) Logically, removing a bile or pancreatic duct stone or relaxing the sphincter muscle makes sense, but these procedures have not proven to be very effective, and many folks end up with chronic post-surgical gallbladder pain – even when there isn’t a gallbladder. In this article, I want to explore some other possibilities that could cause lingering digestive problems after a gallbladder removal. 10 Simple Habits to Lose Weight Naturally

07:54
How many times a year do you start a new diet? Weight loss doesn’t have to be stressful or complicated. All you have to do is build simple habits to see the weight come off. Here are ten scientifically proven tips on how to achieve your dream body in almost no time. #loseweight #healthydiet #weithloss TIMESTAMPS Use blue plates 0:38 Be more optimistic 1:05 30 minutes of exercising is enough 1:35 Eat slowly, and eat alone 2:05 Avoid eating in front of your computer or TV 2:55 Don’t overheat your house 3:54 Reading food labels 4:35 Eat more yogurt and nuts 4:59 Add hot peppers and spices in your diet 6:06 Drink plenty of water 6:26 If you’re hungry, smell bananas 7:06 SUMMARY - A study involving 3,000 volunteers who smelled these foods when they were hungry found that their appetites decreased. And the results were soon reflected on the scales. - One recent study has shown that the color blue decreases appetite. So try some changes like decorating your table with a blue tablecloth, blue napkins, blue plates, and glasses. - Every positive thought matters. The idea is to focus only on good thoughts and repeat your goals as if they were your mantra. - A healthy diet plan does help you lose weight, but it’s critical to combine good nutrition with some physical exercise. Even low-risk activities, such as walking will be beneficial. - When you’re eating out, always choose the smallest portion. Take your time to read the menu. - According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, food ads, especially junk food ads, increase our appetite and make us overeat. Also, when we eat in front of our computers or TV, we don’t pay attention to our food. Therefore, we are not aware of how much we’ve eaten. - According to research published in the journal Obesity Reviews, there’s a link between reduced exposure to seasonal cold and increases in obesity in the UK, US, and other developed countries. - The Nutrition Facts food labels can be very useful in helping you make healthy choices and lose weight. A study published in the Journal of Consumer Affairs suggests that people who read food labels on a regular basis are more likely to lose weight, especially women between the ages of 37-50. - According to research conducted at the Harvard School of Public Health, eating yogurt and nuts is more effective in the long run for weight loss than eating fruits and vegetables. - Consuming chilies and other hot peppers also helps to make the pounds fly off since they accelerate your metabolism. Also, cayenne pepper reduces appetite and burns calories faster, according to research from Purdue University. - You should stay well hydrated every day. Make it a habit of drinking a glass of water in the morning on an empty stomach and a glass of water before going to sleep. What Will Happen If You Start Eating Oats Every Day

10:07
Doctors and nutritionists highly recommend making oatmeal a part of your diet and having it as your healthy morning meal. The secret is simple: good-quality environmentally-friendly oats help you feel and look better on the inside and out. Oats have some unique properties thanks to the wide variety of vitamins and minerals they contain. Zinc helps cleanse the skin and remove toxins and other harmful compounds. Iron is one of the most important elements for the nutrition and saturation of moisture in skin cells. Magnesium promotes blood circulation and noticeable skin cell renewal. While protein is extremely important, your body also demands carbohydrates and fats, both of which you can find in oatmeal. Oats are also rich in antioxidants that help alleviate itching, inflammation, and high blood pressure. The slow carbohydrates found in oatmeal help curb your appetite and maintain normal blood sugar levels. All those nutrients in oats not only boost your metabolism but also prevent the accumulation of fat and toxins in the body. Thanks to the antioxidants present in oatmeal, the probability of damage to the walls of blood vessels by free radicals is reduced significantly. If you find it boring to just have oatmeal for breakfast every day, you’ll love the recipes we have put together to help you turn a boring oatmeal breakfast into something way more flavorful. Music: Mint Chocolate 2a - Vibe Mountain https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Your skin will look better. 0:51 Your muscles will get much-needed protein. 1:48 You’ll get a boost of antioxidants. 2:31 You'll be full of energy. 3:19 You'll lose weight. 4:19 Your cholesterol will decrease. 5:00 You'll have a lower risk of developing heart disease. 5:40 You'll get rid of digestive problems. 6:00 Oatmeal recipes: Apple pie oatmeal 6:50 Oatmeal raisin cookies 7:43 Almond butter-banana oatmeal 8:55 SUMMARY -Oatmeal is ideal for treating inflammatory conditions, like eczema, dermatitis, and skin rashes. It also promotes healthy skin overall. -One serving, or about half a cup, of oatmeal gives your body 15% of the recommended daily amount of protein. Don’t forget about vitamin E, antioxidants, and glutamine, which help muscle fibers regenerate faster. -Oats are rich in antioxidants that help alleviate itching, inflammation, and high blood pressure. -Oatmeal is full of carbohydrates that give your body the energy it needs. -Beta-glucan in oats keeps you from overeating by helping you feel fuller for a longer amount of time and promoting the release of a satiety hormone. -The linoleic acid and soluble fiber contained in oatmeal helps lower the level of bad cholesterol in the blood. -Oats are rich in good healthy fats and support the cells in the heart and circulatory system. -Experts recommend getting at least 25-38 grams of dietary fiber every day since it’s ideal for good digestion. -Try apple pie oatmeal to boost your metabolism. You’ll need oatmeal, almond milk, cinnamon, maple syrup, a large apple and apple sauce to cook it. -The ingredients you’ll need for oatmeal raisin cookies are flour, sea salt, baking soda, butter, an egg, brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, apple sauce and fast-cooking oats. -To cook almond butter-banana oatmeal, you’ll need oatmeal, milk, almond butter, honey and a banana. Diet Plan for 6 Pack Abs (STEP BY STEP!)

13:11
Get 6 pack abs year round by following this diet plan http://athleanx.com/x/diet-plan-for-a-six-pack You’ve probably heard that 6 pack abs are obtained through a proper diet, that abs are made in the kitchen. You’d be right. That said, getting abs still remains rather elusive to many and certainly being able to maintain them year round is even harder. Not any more. In this video, I show you a 5 step plan for how to get a 6 pack that you can use to start getting your abs to show fast. Despite the fact that many are aware of the importance of proper nutrition when it comes to getting abs, it is still a mighty struggle to get them. It usually comes down to the methods those people are using to try and get them in the first place. Crash diet plans and temporary deprivation based tactics are not going to cut it long term if you want to get and keep your abs. Anything that forces you to feel as if you’re missing out or be deprived of what you really want is only going to be a temporary solution at best. As soon as you get tired of not having what you want, you’ll quickly give in and lose your ability to keep your hard earned abs. That said, the 5 step formula for getting a 6 pack starts with cutting out the obvious crap foods from your diet. You should know pretty quickly what these are. It’s the cakes, sweets, alcohol, fatty salad dressings, etc that just scream problems the minute you eat them. You know what they are and that means you know they should be gone, so do it. There’s never been a better time than now to start making the changes that are going to dramatically help you in your pursuit of your abs. Next step is to start eating more often. Yep, despite what keyboard scientists who read a few articles on google scholar want you to believe, there are far more important reasons to be eating more frequently throughout the day than whether or not this is maximally anabolic. I cover these for you in the video. Next up, you’re going to want to take another pass through that diet of yours. On this second time through, you’re going to want to remove the less obvious items that aren’t helping you as best they can to get your 6 pack abs. For me, I lay out three perfect examples. I thought these foods were healthy but I was only partially right. How they were being prepared was making all the difference in me seeing my abs consistently…or not. Moving on, you now want to eat more of the good foods you swapped in. This helps you to maintain and continue to build new muscle. Too often, people who take out the offending foods will free up many calories in their diet. If you don’t replace them with good foods you’ll likely wind up not supporting your muscle growth and be skinny without enough muscle mass. Finally, where the etching in of those abs can happen, supplementation. Use high quality supplements to fine tune your efforts and really take your results to the next level. If you’re looking for the latest in sports nutrition to assist your ab getting goals, be sure to head to http://athleanrx.com or head to http://athleanx.com if you want a meal my meal diet plan for getting abs. What Is This Thing Called The Slow Journalism Movement?

01:31:44
Panel-discussion moderated by Douglas McLennan, editor of ArtsJournal.com, with Peter Sellars, festival, opera and theater director, Josh Viertel, president of Slow Food USA, Mister Jalopy, blogger and author of the Maker's Bill of Rights, and Naka Nathaniel, journalist. The Slow Journalism Movement describes the growing practice of journalists sharing resources and caring less about beating their competition to the big story than about practicing social justice. Top 4 Sources of Estrogen Men Should Avoid

10:59
Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com My Discount on Grass Finished Beef and Organic Chicken - NOTE* INTEGRITY IS IMPORTANT TO ME, and I want to note that Butcher Box Chicken can still be fed Organic Soy (which is much lower in the phyto-estrogens) http://butcherbox.com/thomasdelauer Top 4 Sources of Estrogen Men Should Avoid - Thomas DeLauer There are few things that have a greater impact on the male physique than estrogen. Okay, here's the thing with this video. I'm not here to try to scare you into not consuming any kind of things that are going to trigger estrogen in your body. My purpose with this video, is to educate you so you can moderate consumption and make the right lifestyle changes. Not to scare the heck out of you. Hey if you're looking for an unbiased approach to health, wellness, and fitness then I encourage you to subscribe to my channel, make sure you hit that little bell button so you can turn on notifications and know whenever I post a new video on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at seven am pacific time. Alright, lets get down to the brass tags. So first off we have to understand just a little bit about estrogen. Okay. Estrogen is very important. We need it. Men need it. Women need it. But it's also one of the things that if we over do just a tiny bit can send us into a downward spiral that destroys our physique. Okay. If you're holding a lot of water, if you feel puffy, if you just feel like you're having a hard time getting rid of excess body fat, then to be completely honest there's a highly, highly likely chance that you are having an issue with estrogen. And a lot of it isn't necessarily your fault. It can be the over consumption of things that are just seemingly healthy and I want to help you understand what they are. Because when we look at estrogen, you have to remember that it tells your body to enter into this aromatase cycle where it continues to build more fat. Once the aromatase enzyme is activated which processes estrogen within your body, it triggers your body to store fat. And the more fat cells that you have the more aromatase enzyme that you have. Which means some more activity, more aromatase activity, the more estrogenic activities. So more fat equals more estrogen. More estrogen equals more fat. Do the math. We have to control it and stop it somewhere. So what we have to look at when it comes down to understanding the estrogens that we consume is the two different kinds. We have Xenoestrogens and Phytoestrogens. Xenoestrogens are foreign estrogens that are formed outside of an animal body, okay. And then we have Phytoestrogens which are estrogens that are formed inside of a plant. They both have very similar effects within the body but slightly different in term of their molecular makeup. So let's take a look at the first think I want you to start modulating so you can really get a grasp on your estrogen. Alright, this first one is going to be wheat and grains. I'm not going to tell you not to consume wheat and grains at all, but I am going to tell you to start considering your source and modulate it whenever you can. They are very high in a Xenoestrogen known as Zearalenone, also known as a ZEA. Slow Cooked Pot Roast Using Food Storage ~ Noreen's Kitchen

10:23
Today I wanted to share with you how I made a great pot roast with vegetable gravy and how I happened by accident. I recently purchased a nice roast with the intention of slow cooking it. When I got home I realized that I did not have any root aromatics like celery or onion. So I decided to take the opportunity to use some of my dehyrdrated and freeze dried food storage stock to make this meal. You will see how I used what I already had on hand to make a great pot roast on a cold day when I did not want to go back out in the weather to get fresh veggies for dinner. This is also a great encouragement for you to keep what you need on hand as well as a stock of dehyrated and freeze dried stock to fall back on in the event that you can't get to the store. I hope you enjoy seeing what I did and how I did it. I hope you give this a try one day should you have the opportunity and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Happy Eating! And even though eating just one oreo won't necessarily make you gain weight and definitely won't turn you into a diabetic, almost nobody eats just one oreo. In fact according to the U.S. Departments of Health the average American has about 17 teaspoons of sugar per day. Other sources estimate that americans are having close to 25 teaspoons of sugar per day, which is much higher than any other country in the world and it's double the amount of sugar that's recommended by the world health organization. The biggest problem with sugar is that it's an empty calorie, that won't fill you up, but it will instead leave you craving more. Studies show that consuming too much sugar can lead to leptin resistance, and leptin is the hormone that's released by you fat cells to let you know when you're full. If you're body becomes resistant to leptin there are much higher chances of overeating, while still feeling hungry, which is a perfect storm for gaining weight. Some studies have also shown that sugar may be addicting and may have some similar effects on the brain as drugs and alcohol. Although in humans this effect is considered much less intense than the effects of drugs, animal based studies have shown that over consumption can cause neurochemical and behavioral changes leading to the same craving, binging, and withdrawl cycles. Some of these studies show that rats will even choose sugar over cocaine.. Now my objective isn't to scare you away from sugar, there are ways that you can balance it with the rest of your diet, and most of the crazy sugar phobia out there comes from one man named Robert Lustig and his cherry picked research that has largely been debunked. Instead of scaring you my objective is to put you in control of how much sugar you're having by reducing your cravings for it. And one of the best ways to reduce your desire for sugar or even your borderline addiction to sugar, is by avoiding it entirely until you develop a healthier relationship to it. I Ate One Meal A Day For 30 Days (RESULTS)

I ate one meal a day for over 30 days so here are my results. Learn what to expect with an omad diet meal plan. Eating one meal a day is a form of intermittent fasting for weight loss. Learn what to eat for 1 meal a day to lose weight and belly fat fast. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Challenge: https://gravitychallenges.com/home65d4f?utm_source=ytube&utm_term=results Fat Loss Calculator: http://bit.ly/2OWgZ4a Timestamps: # The Proper Way To Set Up This Diet Plan 0:47 # 23/1 Fasting To Feeding Split 1:30 # Metabolism Slow Down Is A Myth 2:00 # Adaptive Thermogenesis 2:50 # Thermic Effect Of Food 3:36 # Eating Patterns & Metabolic Activity 6:10 # Gluconeogenesis 6:28 # It May Not Be Right for Everyone 8:13 What would happen if you only ate one meal a day for the next 30 days. Would you lose weight and more specifically would you lose body fat or would you lose muscle mass? Or maybe your body would go into starvation mode and cause you to gain weight rather than lose it due to a slower metabolism? Well that's exactly what we're going to drive into in today's video. I've been eating one meal a day not every day but almost everyday for about 2 years now. And it's worked really well for me, so today I'd like to let you guys know what results you can expect if you stick to only one meal day for the next 30 days. Even though I've had quite a bit of experience with the one meal a day diet myself I'm going to be sharing scientific studies and evidence that will help you see both the pros and the cons of this diet approach. First I want to go over the proper way to set up this diet plan for yourself because there's not an abundance of information out there on the one meal a day diet like there is on shorter fasting protocols like intermittent fasting. So a lot of people that try to stick to this diet plan mess it up from the very get go and turn it into more of a warrior diet. And the warrior diet is great, but that's not what we're going for here. You see the warrior diet is a different form of fasting where you fast for 20 hours of the day and you give yourself a four hour feeding window for eating. If you don't set limits to the amount of time you spend eating you easily can drag out your one single meal into a buffet that lasts for hours. So it's very important that you understand that one meal a day is also a 23/1 fasting to feeding split. Meaning you only give yourself a 1 hour feeding window usually during the same time every day and you have to spend the other 23 hours of the day fasting. If it isn't already obvious OMad or the one meal a day diet helps you create a calorie deficit without really thinking about restricting calories. When you're only eating once a day especially when you do it the right way and limit it to under an hour, you can only fit so much into your stomach before your full. So really we're limiting calories by decreasing meal frequency. Which immediately can be a red flag for those people that believe that your metabolism slows down when you decrease meal frequency. However, numerous studies have proven this to be a myth. One study called "meal frequency and energy balance" combined and examined research from a bunch of different studies on the topic of meal frequency. And the researchers found that a nibbling pattern of eating or eating more frequently didn't present any advantage as far as the metabolic rate was concerned. So your metabolism is not going to automatically slow down from eating only one meal a day for 30 days. If you have the same amount of calories in that one meal as you would in 6 meals then your metabolism should remain the same in both situations. So does that mean that the "starvation mode" that we've all been warned about is a big phony scam? Well turns out it's actually not, it's actually called adaptive thermogenesis and it's a very real response that your body has. In response to a decrease in energy intake your body will decrease energy expenditure in an effort to avoid starvation. However adaptive thermogenesis will occur based on the total amount of energy or calories coming in. As long as you don't fast for over 48 hours It doesn't matter if those calories all come in at once or throughout the day. In fact shorter fasts that last under 48 hours have been shown to increase your metabolism between roughly 4 to 14 percent Research: Meal frequency does not accelerate or slow your metabolism: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9155494 Effects of meal frequency on weight loss and body composition (meta-analysis): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26024494 3 meals per day vs 6 meals a day does not effect weight loss: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19943985 Resting Metabolism Increase from Short term fasting: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10837292 Metabolic response to a 48 hour starvation: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2405717 One meal a day vs three meals per day for 6 months: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2121099/ ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2645638/

Design: Researchers assigned 54 patients with type 2 diabetes, both men and women, age 30–70 years, to follow two regimens of a hypoenergetic diet (below normal, caloric restriction), A6 and B2, each for 12 weeks. The diet in both regimens had the same macronutrient and energy content. Results: - Body weight decreased in both regimens, more for B2 (-5.07 lbs for A6 vs −8.1 lbs for B2) - HFC decreased in response to both regimens, more for B2 (−0.03% for A6 vs −0.04% for B2) - Fasting plasma glucose and C-peptide levels decreased in both regimens, more for B2 - Fasting plasma glucagon decreased with the B2 regimen, whereas it increased for the A6 regimen - OGIS (oral glucose insulin sensitivity) increased in both regimens, more for B2 - No adverse events were observed for either regimen Fasting Study: Published in the Journal of Translational Medicine - Effects of eight weeks of time-restricted feeding (16/8) on basal metabolism, maximal strength, body composition, inflammation, and cardiovascular risk factors in resistance-trained males Design: 34 resistance-trained males were randomly assigned to a fasting [referred to time restricted feeding (TRF)] or normal diet group (ND) TRF subjects consumed 100% of their energy needs in an 8-hour period of time each day, with their caloric intake divided into three meals consumed at 1pm, 4pm, and 8pm - the remaining 16 hours made up the fasting period. Subjects in the ND group consumed 100% of their energy needs divided into three meals consumed at 8am, 1pm, and 8pm. Groups were matched for kilocalories consumed and macronutrient distribution and subjects were tested before and after 8 weeks of the assigned diet Results: After 8 weeks, a significant decrease in fat mass was observed in the TRF group (−16% vs −2.8 % in ND group), while fat-free mass was maintained in both groups (+0.86 vs +0.64 %) - muscle area of the arm and thigh, and maximal strength were maintained in both groups. Blood glucose and insulin levels decreased significantly only in TRF - also in the TRF group, adiponectin increased, leptin decreased (but this was not significant when normalized for fat mass) No significant changes were detectable for lipids, except for a decrease of triglycerides in TRF group. Markers for inflammation (TNF-α and IL-1β) were lower in TRF at the conclusion of the study as compared to ND - note that IGF-1 & T levels did drop in the fasting group. Does your diet include artificial sweeteners? The research presented in this video reveals that non-caloric sweeteners have an impact on insulin levels. Since insulin is your fat-storing hormone, you may want to rethink how often you rely on artificial sweeteners, especially if you are a slow loser. In this video, you'll learn... *How artificial sweeteners mixed in coffee affected my blood glucose and ketone readings *How artificial sweeteners cause insulin resistance and what that means to your ability to burn fat *My recommendation on using artificial sweeteners Artificial Sweeteners pictured in the video: Splenda, Equal, Sweet-n-Low, Erythritol, Stevia, Allulose, Monk Fruit, Xylitol (Video mentioned) Results of Artificial Sweeteners on our Blood Glucose/Ketone readings: http://bit.ly/2uYWdJJ Studies mentioned in the video: Study #1: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0031938416301640 Study #2: https://www.nature.com/articles/nature13793 Study #3: https://www.nutritionjrnl.com/article/S0899-9007(18)30255-7/fulltext *********** Work with Dr. Becky: Get started with Dr. Becky for free: Learn her 4 Daily Habits (0,1,2,3 Strategy) for Weight Loss: http://www.drbeckyfitness.com/4DailyHabits Reach your goal by joining Dr. Becky's Coaching Program: http://www.drbeckyfitness.com/Coaching Like Dr. Becky Fitness on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/DrBeckyFitness ************ Dr. Becky Gillaspy graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1991.
