Biggest Palladium Deposits Found In Philippines
Read full story: http://www.okd2.com/biggest-palladium-deposits-discovered-off-coasts-romblon-negros-panay-islands/ Philippines could be one of the richest countries in Asia, following the discovery of the world’s biggest Palladium reserve off the coasts of Negros, Panay, Mindoro, and Romblon Islands, south of Luzon. NASA, together with USGS, (United States Geological Survey), released a 3-year study report detailing the 8,450 square kilometer palladium deposits lying below the seas of Visayan, Sibuyan, and Tablas Strait. Current biggest producer of Palladium is Russia with 44%, followed by Africa with 40%, and the rest are from Canada and US. If the Philippine government allows foreign investors to dig and mine the palladium deposits, the country can expect around $9.8B a year in net profit, report said. Philippines Environment Monitor: Water Quality
Poor water quality has large economic and quality of life costs, in terms of health impacts and foregone revenues. According to the Philippine government's monitoring data, just over 36 percent of the country's river systems are classified as sources of public water supply and that up to 58 percent of groundwater sampled is contaminated with coliform and needs treatment. Approximately 31 percent of illnesses monitored for a five-year period were also caused by water-borne sources, and many areas are experiencing a shortage of water supply, during the dry season. Technology For Property Rights: Improving Land Titling in the Philippines
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to work with The Asian Foundation, Foundation for Economic Freedom, Omidyar Network, Land Management Bureau, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, SkyEye, and Micro Aerial Projects to shoot and edit a couple of videos regarding the property rights situation in Philippines, and the use of new technologies to help expedite the processes. "The Technology for Property Rights Project is a project of the Foundation for Economic Freedom and The Asia Foundation, supported by the Omidyar Network. The project aims to further scale titling and increase the security of property rights under the Residential Free Patent Act or RA10023 through the use of new approaches and technologies. The project has the three following component activities: 1) training private sector professionals to assist public land applicants; 2) creating an online adjudication application; and 3) using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)-generated Image-Maps to enhance phases in systematic adjudication." Natural wealth revenues for a green, inclusive economy in the Philippines
As of 2009, despite the country's last decade positive economic growth, 26.5% of its population or 25 million Filipinos were still living under the poverty line. 75% of those were living in rural or mar- ginalized areas. They depend disproportionately on natural resources and are thus more vulnerable to environmental degradation. Mining industries and renewable energy generation represent a clear link between poverty and environment. Although nat- ural resources have been identified nationally as an important growth driver and the country is 5th most mineral-rich in the world, this sector has yet to con- tribute significantly to economic growth and human development.

Philippines Working on South China Sea Natural Resource Agreement
Foreign Affairs Secretary Peter Alan Cayetano on July 14 said the Philippines is working with other countries on agreements to conduct natural resource exploration in the South China Sea.
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. or HARI recently received the second highest ranking in the 2017 Philippines Customer Service Index or CSISTUDYSM conducted by J.D. Power. The study was fielded between February and May 2017, where a total of 1,951 new vehicle owners participated. Respondents are owners who purchased their vehicles between February 2015 and May 2016 and who brought their vehicles to an authorized service center or dealer for maintenance or repair work between August 2016 and May 2017. HARI bested the nine other mass market brands included in the study, registering impressive ratings in all five factors measured, namely: service quality; service initiation; vehicle pick-up; service, facility; and service advisor.

"Water Initiatives of Nestlé Philippines" | Nestlé PH
Nestlé Philippines, since 2000, has continuously increased production to meet the increasing demand of our products. But despite this increase in production, our water consumption or water withdrawal rate and waste water discharge rates have decreased. Water and the continuous availability of water is crucial for Nestlé Philippines as the raw materials that we purchase need water to survive, we use water to produce our products and our products are consumed with water. Nestlé Philippines consistently works to continue reducing the amount of water used per kilo of food and beverage produced. This video summarizes a number of Nestlé Philippines water efficiency initiatives to further contribute to the preservation of this precious natural resource. It also features Nestlé Philippines' efforts in treating its waste water as well as water education and awareness initiatives conducted for various stakeholders. http://www.nestle.com.ph http://www.nestle.com http://www.facebook.com/nestle.ph http://nestlephilippineschoosewellness.blogspot.com http://nestlephilsevents.blogspot.com http://nestlephilsinthenews.blogspot.com

China expands its control in South China Sea | Philippines | VietNam | Malaysia
✅ Top Stories Today - As China consolidates its hold in South China Sea and wields its military, economic and diplomatic leverage, smaller countries see no credible option but to work with Beijing, even if that means furthering Chinese objectives. Manila, for example, seems willing to accede to Beijing’s demand for joint development of hydrocarbon resources in the Philippines’ own exclusive economic zone. The plain fact is that U.S. inaction under successive administrations has allowed China to gain effective control over a strategic sea that is more than twice the size of the Gulf of Mexico and 50 percent bigger than the Mediterranean Sea. Australia’s Kevin Rudd, who is still fending off accusations that he was “a slavish pro-China prime minister,” has acknowledged that “Chinese policy has not yet been challenged in the South China Sea by the United States to any significant extent.” The U.S., even at the risk of fostering Philippine helplessness against Chinese expansionism, has refused to clarify whether its 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty with Manila would apply to an attack on Philippine troops or vessels in the South China Sea. This refusal stands in contrast to Washington’s commitment to the defense of the Japanese-administered but Chinese-claimed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea. U.S. President Donald Trump, in his joint statement with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in April, said that “Article 5 of the U.S.-Japan Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security covers the Senkaku Islands.” In fact, the U.S. has refused to take sides in the territorial disputes between China and the other claimant-states in the South China Sea. The Trump administration stayed silent even when Chinese military threats forced Vietnam in March, for the second time in less than nine months, to halt oil and gas drilling on its own continental shelf. ✅ Video/Thumbnail Picture just For Illustration ✅ What do you think of this video?
