COLLEGE DECISION 2018! Are We Going to the SAME School?!?

10:24
Brooklyn and I are Seniors and about to graduate high school, so it’s ABOUT TIME we finally announced our big college decision! Do you think we’ll go to the same university??? Watch the video to find out! YOU GUYS... our HAIR SCRUNCHIES are BACK IN STOCK! Plus, we're releasing a NEW set of colors with this video... White, Denim, and Purple! You can find our Scrunchies HERE! ▶ https://brooklynandbaileyshop.com Let us know if you like the new colors! Picking a University is not an easy task. So much thought goes into it when you consider all the options and variables out there. Although we are twins, Brooklyn and I both had different priorities when it came down to picking the right school for us individually. It is true. First, we narrowed our list down to our Top 6 schools... Stanford, Texas, Baylor, BYU, Texas A&M, and Harding! We threw in Hogwarts just for fun! Seriously though, each of these schools has its own unique charm and qualities. They have distinct campuses, diverse programs, fun traditions, and amazing student life. We were looking for a university that will provide us with the best path forward in the business world and enhance our knowledge and skill sets while also considering our profession. Marketing and Entrepreneurship are both degree tracks that are appealing to the both of us, and many of these schools have them. For me, when I laid it all in the balance alongside the scholarships that were awarded to us, it really became an easier choice. The university and its tradition, along with its successful graduates, alumni network, wonderful faculty and administration made all the difference in my decision. Brooklyn made her own decision in much the same way. WHERE WILL WE BE GOING TO COLLEGE??? Together or separate? High School vs College - How Do They Compare?

09:02
Try Dashlane here: https://www.dashlane.com/infographicsshow (Plus, here’s a promo code: infographics) Before we start, let’s make something clear. Someone asks on Quora, “Why do Americans call university, college?” It is a little bit confusing if you’re not from the U.S. When Americans talk about college they are usually talking about institutes of higher learning that you attend after you graduate high school. One university might have several colleges, such as Cornell University, which has seven. ‘College’ and ‘university’ are interchangeable. We just thought we’d make that clear. If you say you are going to college in the UK or Australia or somewhere in Asia, it usually means a place of further education or somewhere you might study a vocational subject such as nursing, textile manufacturing or automotive repair. So, today we are talking more about differences after high school graduation rather than a comparison of two similar types of institutions. Is University Worth it?|Graduate Unemployment|Mental Illness

08:45
Sometimes life is shit, but it's much better to laugh than cry right!? Like and subscribe for more laughs! Is University Worth it? Yes you're more likely to be employed if you have a degree. Yes Graduates earn £6,000 more than non-graduates But... What if University isn't for you? You might prefer to pick up skills and work at the same time. What happens when all the jobs you can get, are the ones that you are OVERQUALIFIED for? What if the job you get, is a job that didn't require a degree? What if the job you get is not at all relevant to your degree at all? I'm not saying don't go to university, but just consider other options like work, apprenticeships etc. It's important to take the time out and research what you want to do in life. As well as its worth to consider knowing that you'll be paying back student loans for the next +10 years. I wanted to give my own opinion on whether University is still worth it in 2017. I feel like as children especially during GCSES/A-Levels, we're pushed into the box of going to university in order to get a career. But there are ways to become successful without going to university. Here are some links from where I got my facts: http://www.independent.co.uk/student/career-planning/thousands-of-graduates-working-in-jobs-that-dont-require-any-qualifications-a7114056.html https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2013/05/britains-great-university-rip-off/ https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/may/03/the-guardian-view-on-graduates-and-employment-degrees-but-not-destinations http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/11799502/Top-university-chief-You-might-well-be-better-off-not-going-to-Uni.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/item/d323ccd9-e6f0-4075-aa92-c819eac29f70 https://www.theguardian.com/education/2016/mar/13/tuition-fees-have-led-to-surge-in-students-seeking-counselling https://www.theguardian.com/education/2015/dec/14/majority-of-students-experience-mental-health-issues-says-nus-survey https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/may/23/number-university-dropouts-due-to-mental-health-problems-trebles

A Clearing Story | University of Southampton | Abbie

Register for Clearing course vacancy updates: https://www.southampton.ac.uk/clearing Abbie felt like the world had ended when she didn't get into the Universities she had chosen. It's really hard to get to sleep it's really hard just to stay still but then I guess on on the day you just want to know straight away, you wake up and you want to know now. I got a I got a phone call from school and they were like yeah I think you need to come in soon. Then I looked at UCAS and it was like yeah, you're not in you're going through Clearing. I was like, my heart just sank straight away, I was like Mum we need to get in the car now! I was pretty hysterical to be honest because I felt like I'd sort of failed myself. When I got to school and they were like look they're not bad grades, it's just not enough to go to the universities that you want and then the one subject that I love which is Geography well when I was doing my A-levels I just completely messed up the exam. I had it remarked everything but I literally read the question wrong and I was like it's just ruined all my chances. I think it took me like four hours to calm down but then you do eventually realise okay, I've actually got to stop feeling sorry for myself and get my life sorted. I looked through my five choices that I'd chosen through UCAS and one of them was an unconditional so I'd already called up them and they were like yeah it's fine you can come here but then I was like I don't really want to go there. And then Mum was like wait a minute, when you were in Southampton you had a great time . I've been here three times the Open Day, I'd been here for my interview and the post-offer day so I really enjoyed that and I got to meet some fantastic like Professors and stuff. I was more comfortable with the city and the only reason I didn't want to go there was literally because it was too far away so when it got to the clearing day, I obviously called up the Clearing hotline I was very hysterical they had to like really calm me down over the phone because I was just sort of like I don't want to go to the Uni, please give me a place. I applied for a foundation year instead and then my professor Ian Harding actually call me back and said no we'd actually like to offer you place but not for the foundation year just for the full BSc and I think that was a massive shock I was literally crying over the phone I was just a bit like this is an amazing! Then I looked through like the tables where Southampton is and I was like actually I'm going to a really good Uni And then I looked at the list for Geology and it turns out Southampton is better than my two unis anyway that I had applied for so it was like I've actually done really well to get in! So once I'd got my place I was like 'Ahh, where am I going to live?' So I needed to look at accommodation so I went through clearing for accommodation as well and then eventually I moved to Mayflower and got my place there and that was amazing so really nice place to live. In my second year I joined swim team, I met so many people I never thought I'd meet people from Engineering from like History and I think that was the best thing about it because I've met some of my best friends through there. My top tips of going into clearing would be stay calm, obviously have that hysterical moment of crying and get all your emotions out. Sit down with your teachers, your parents and just think about things realistically just try and go to as many open days as you can if you don't get your choice you need to know what your other options look like.

The University of Adelaide [An Unbiased Review by A Life That Travels]

07:14
Thinking of studying at the University of Adelaide and want to know what people REALLY think of studying there? You're going to want to watch this video first! Rob Malicki from A Life That Travels takes a walk around UoA's beautiful campus nestled between North Terrace and the Torrens River. Along the way he talks with students and takes you through some of the key things you need to know about the university: its strengths, some of the background and how it ranks. Why? Because there's too much pressure on people to "work it all out", so this review is designed purely and simply to give you an unbiased look at what the university is like. **** No propaganda! Welcome to A Life That Travels, a channel dedicated to providing independent, unbiased advice and stories from around the world. Why does A Life That Travels exist? Because SOCIETY shouldn't set the LIMITS on WHO YOU CAN BE. But it tries to. Making decisions about what to do with your life is hard and there's way too much pressure on people to "work it all out" and to "find your passion"... like you're some kind of failure if you don't. So here's the truth. You've got plenty of time and "working it out" is hard. You can study (uni or technical/vocation ed). You can go travelling. You can get a job and dive straight into your career. And you know what? ALL of these are PERFECTLY acceptable options. And that's where A Life That Travels comes in. * Interviews with REAL PEOPLE who've done INTERESTING things with their lives, through study, work and travel, so that maybe you can find your own ideas in their stories * Travel stories, destinations and advice... so if you want to see the world you'll see it's not so scary stepping out of your comfort zone. * Unbiased reviews of universities and other study options so you can cut through the noise and make clearer decisions.
