When a church is constructed, what are the "rules" that an architect must follow? 4. Discuss the vestments that priests and bishops wear as well as their significance and history? 5. The Eastern ORTHODOX Church is the ONLY TRUE and Apostolic CHURCH. part 1 of 3 - American documentary: "The Ancient Church"

06:08
How old is the ORTHODOX faith? If you are a Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther, an ex-monk of the Catholic Church, in the year 1517. If you belong to the Church of England, your religion was founded by King Henry VIII in the year 1534 because the Pope would not grant him a divorce with the right to re-marry. If you are a Presbyterian, your religion was founded by John Knox in Scotland in the year 1560. If you are a Congregationalist, your religion was originated by Robert Brown in Holland in 1582. If you are Protestant Episcopalian, your religion was an offshoot of the Church of England, founded by Samuel Senbury in the American colonies in the 17th century. If you are a Baptist, you owe the tenets of your religion to John Smyth, who launched it in Amsterdam in 1606. If you are of the Dutch Reformed Church, you recognize Michelis Jones as founder because he originated your religion in New York in 1628. If you are a Methodist, your religion was founded by John and Charles Wesley in England in 1774. If you are a Mormon (Latter Day Saints), Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmyra, New York, in 1829. If you worship with the Salvation Army, your sect began with William Booth in London in 1865. If you are Christian Scientist, you look to 1879 as the year in which your religion was born and to Mary Baker Eddy as its founder. If you belong to one of the religious organizations known as "Church of the Nazarene, Pentecostal Gospel," "Holiness Church," or "Jehovah's Witnesses," your religion is one of the hundreds of new sects founded by men within the past hundred years. If you are Roman Catholic, your church shared the same rich apostolic and doctrinal heritage as the Orthodox Church for the first thousand years of its history, since during the first millennium they were one and the same Church. Lamentably, in 1054, the Pope of Rome broke away from the other four Apostolic Patriarchates (which include Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch and Jerusalem), by tampering with the Original Creed of the Church, and considering himself to be infallible. Thus your church is 1,000 years old. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, _______________________________________ If you are ORTHODOX Christian, your religion was founded in the year 33 by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It has not changed since that time. Our church is now almost 2,000 years old. And it is for this reason, that Orthodoxy, the Church of the Apostles and the Fathers is considered the true "one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church." This is the greatest legacy that we can pass on to the young people of the new millennium. _________________________________ ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the Trinity I worship three persons -- three hypostases -- that of the Father, that of the Son and that of the Holy Spirit. I do not confuse the persons of the Most Holy Trinity. I do not believe that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are, as it were, three masks of a single person. None of the persons is alienated from the others, but each has the fulness of the Three together. Concerning Immortality I believe that only God is eternal and immortal by nature and in essence. The angels and the souls of men are immortal only because God bestows this immortality upon them by grace. Is Orthodox Christianity A Religion?

25:47
A round-table discussion revolving around the question of whether or not Orthodox Christianity is a religion. Although a certain publication of his work is discussed in a positive way in this program we do not endorse the author John Romanides - a clergyman who officially represented Ecumenist jurisdictions at the syncretistic World Council of Churches, and even signed the infamous “Chambésy Statement”. He authored articles openly calling 'Orthodox' those whom the Church has anathematized as heretics. We reject any un-Orthodox actions and statements of his. In this program we acknowledge his great contributions to the world of theology, but we do not endorse all his writings, ideals, or actions in toto.

Being Orthodox on Purpose with Fr. Barnabas Powell

01:32:42
Fr. Barnabas Powell joins Hank to discuss his journey from pastoring a Pentecostal church and holding a prominent role in evangelical media ministry to becoming a priest in the Orthodox Church. After years of pursuit, Fr. Barnabas found the timeless truth he was searching for in the ancient faith of the Eastern Orthodox Church and decided to live out his faith daily by being “Orthodox on purpose.” Fr. Barnabas and Hank are both uniquely positioned to discuss the divisions between Eastern and Western Christianity and why it is critical for Christians everywhere to embrace the doctrine of unity taught in the Lord’s high priestly prayer in the face of deeply entrenched tribalism inside and outside of the church today. Topics discussed include: Fr. Barnabas Powell’s background as a pastor in a Pentecostal church and how his Pentecostal background prepared him for the transition to becoming a priest in Orthodoxy (2:45); the popular narrative that we should never call anyone (such as a priest) "Father," and why that is a mistake (4:45); what does it mean to be “Orthodox on purpose?” (7:30); are there Christians outside of Orthodoxy? (14:00); incarnate theology and the significance of a priest, like Fr. Barnabas himself, wearing robes (17:00); the significance of the quote by St. Cyprian: “He can no longer have God for his Father, who has not the church for his mother,” and what it says on the unity of the church (20:15); comparing liturgical practice in the church to a spiritual gymnasium where the disciplines of life in the church strengthen our spirit (25:00); the paradox of disciplining our desires and the misconception of viewing spiritual disciplines, such as fasting, as works done to earn our salvation (29:25); Rejecting RAPTUREMANIA (48:45); the purifying power of pain and the false perception that pain is the ultimate evil in an era of prosperity preaching (52:00); the pursuit of timeless truth and following St. Vincent of Lerins's three rules of antiquity, universality, and consensus (55:50); combating our chronological snobbery to understand the enlightenment of the early church fathers (59:05); addressing problems within Orthodoxy (1:02:05); the difference between a transactional and transformational Christian faith (1:07:20); the significance of developing a dispassionate disposition toward our desires, and how spiritual discipline can help (1:08:35); understanding what the discipline of confession is really about, and the difference between how confession is conducted in the East and the West (1:12:35); why Christianity is Eucharistic at its core and why being grateful is at the heart of what it means to be a Christian (1:16:30); the importance for Christians everywhere to embrace the doctrine of unity taught in the Lord’s high priestly prayer in the face of tribalism inside and outside of the church (1:20:00); and weighing in on the current schism in the Orthodox church today (1:26:20). ----------------------------------- “Hank Unplugged” is Hank Hanegraaff’s audio podcast. What are the differences between Catholics and Protestants?

There are at least four major differences between Catholics and Christians / Catholics and Protestants. When asked, what do Catholics believe, many would say it is the same as protestants, but that is simply not the case. What Catholics believe about salvation, and life after death are very different from what a Protestant believes, among other Catholic beliefs, including the Catholic Sacraments. In this video, Pastor Nelson with Bible Munch points out four major differences between Catholics and Christians. *** Curious about Bible Munch? Christian Orthodox Creed in English - The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father!

01:51
http://www.orthodoxphotos.com/history.shtml How old is the orthodox faith? Readit it. It explains you very clearly why Orthodoxy is the Only True Faith. I also want to tell you that I pictured the MIRACLE of the incorupted body of a Romanian Orthodox saint John Jacob from Hozeva in august 2009 in a pilgrimage to the Orthodox Holy Places in Israel. Saint Ioan Iabob from Hozeva died in 1960.His intact body was found after 20 years,in 1980 in the cave in which he was burried, the cave in which he prayed all his life, and he was intact and had a superbe heavenly smell. You can see the movie with the pictures in my profile,it is the first film If you are an DARWINIST/EVOLUTIONIST you should see these two documentaries: 1)THE DISASTERS DARWINISM BROUGHT TO HUMANITY http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5938600797075743578# This documentary presents an aspect of the theory of evolution that has so far remained hidden. It unveils the ideological links between Darwinism and the totalitarian ideologies like fascism and communism. You will see the fruits of Darwinism in the killing fields of Hitler, Stalin or Mao. AND 2) "EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed"by Ben Stein http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-518637672896741579# CONCLUSION: Recent studies have completely demolished Darwin's theory, but this doesn't mater because it is very POLITICAL CORRECT... Darwinism has always been the IDEOLOGICAL DOCTRINE that justifies the policies of a very wide variety of different governments. I will give you some exemples. DARWIN's Theory was the dactrinal base of: 1)COLONIAL EMPIRES - it gave an excuse to "superior european whites" to enslave and exploit other "inferior races"... 2)NAZISM- we all know about "the arian race " and the extermination of the other inferior races... 3)COMMUNISM - an atheist regime with deep roots in Darwinism 4)The ATHEIST CONSUMPTION SOCIETY of today... So, if Darwin is wrong, it means that GOD EXISTS! . Now why ORTHODOXY IS THE ONLY TRUE FAITH? 1) Read again the first artice: http://www.orthodoxphotos.com/history.shtml How old is the orthodox faith? 2) The Eastern ORTHODOX Church is the ONLY TRUE and Apostolic CHURCH. part 1 of 3 - American documentary: "The Ancient Church" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tirUy13Q_L8 You can easily find the other two parts. 3) Orthodox 94 years old elder Arsenie Papacioc: The Proof that Orthodoxy is the Only True Faith, and AGAINST ECUMENISM! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o7UGLTauHI . How Orthodox Theology Works with Frederica Mathewes-Green

01:34:17
To celebrate the fiftieth episode of the Hank Unplugged podcast, Hank is re-joined by his first guest, close friend and best-selling author Frederica Mathewes-Green. This wide-ranging conversation explores many of the most common misconceptions of Eastern Orthodox theology, how Orthodox theology actually works, and the true purpose of theology itself — experiencing God. Topics discussed include: why Frederica calls abortion the most important justice issue of our time (2:40); comparing the shifting arguments of pro-choice advocates surrounding the concept of personhood to the perception of personhood found in the Three-Fifths Compromise and slavery (5:05); sex-selective abortion (7:45); how Orthodox theology works — how the concept of theology in the Christian East differs from that of the Christian West (11:00); the Atonement — Christus Victor (16:50); how the fall of Rome affected the separation between the Christian East and the Christian West (18:00); the role of tradition in biblical interpretation (22:35); finding comfort in submitting oneself to the continuation of the teachings and traditions of the historic Christian faith (26:15); truth is necessary, but it’s hardly sufficient when it comes to the authentic Christian life, because truly knowing God is more important than knowing about God (35:30); are we allowed to call anyone father? Apophatic theology and the fragile, futility of words (38:45); addressing the fragmentation and tribalism of the church and embracing the concept of mere Christianity while not compromising on the essentials of the historic Christian faith (41:15); addressing the theological unity amidst the ethnic distinctions within Orthodoxy (46:55); separation of church and state (49:40); the transformative power of The Jesus Prayer (53:00); discussing negative attitudes toward Mary and how Jesus would want us to feel about His mother (1:00:40); explaining the practice of venerating icons (1:07:00); exploring the biblical roots of liturgical practices of worship (1:10:50); why viewing the congregation as customers and marketing the consumeristic corruption of church is a tragedy (1:14:00); nous and the false dichotomy between reason and emotion in theology (1:16:30); the danger in reducing theology to intellectual combat as opposed to a way to encounter and experience God (1:20:00); Romans 6:23 and contesting the common protestation that Orthodoxy is a crass system of works righteousness (1:23:00); and closing remarks (1:30:00). ----------------------------------- “Hank Unplugged” is Hank Hanegraaff’s audio podcast. A review of the Orthodox Study Bible, ISBN: 978-0-7180-0359-3 (9780718003593). The book contains the New King James Version (NKJV) New Testament and an Old Testament modified in the direction of the Septuagint, along with notes, book introductions, and articles about Eastern Orthodox theology and piety. This hardback has a glued binding, very thin pages, lots of ghosting, and an Old Testament text that frequently departs from the Septuagint; but on the plus side the notes and articles are interesting and informative.

How Orthodoxy Saved Me From Myself with Frederica Mathewes-Green

01:02:25
Hank Hanegraaff, host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast and president of the Christian Research Institute, makes his debut into podcasting with the first episode of Hank Unplugged by inviting his close friend and best-selling author Frederica Mathewes-Green onto the podcast to discuss Hank's transition into Eastern Orthodoxy, being diagnosed with cancer, and the way that those two situations have impacted one another. Topics discussed include the difference Orthodoxy has made for Hank after being diagnosed with cancer and reordering his life around the divine (11:00); the history of the church, schisms, and the high priestly prayer that we all must be as one (14:00); community memory as a source of Church authority and the perpetuation of Holy tradition in addition to “being biblical” (22:30); the “spiritual gymnasium” found in the Orthodox Church (37:30); the tension Hank feels between wanting the Lord to heal him and wanting the Lord to prune him for His glory as a witness (40:30); the idea of intercession of the community of the saints through prayer and the idea that there are no dead Christians (46:30); and how Hank has staked his whole career and ministry on his belief in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist (52:30). ----------------------------------- “Hank Unplugged” is Hank Hanegraaff’s audio podcast. Why Reuniting the Eastern Orthodox Church to the Roman Church Is Nearly Impossible mp3

35:15
The speaker, Father Thomas Hopko (1939-2015), was one of the greatest English-speaking academic scholars in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He was also, one of the more liberal (on the subject of unifying the Christian faith) spokesmen for the Eastern Orthodox Church. Father Tom is Dean Emeritus of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary and the author of numerous books and articles. He is very optimistic compared to most other well-informed Orthodox leaders. Can the Roman Catholics, reject the filoque, purgatory, papal authority as we know it, the Immaculate Conception, the normative use of unleavened bread for Communion, and more? If not, one of Orthodoxy's most easy going and most willing to recommend compromise paints an ugly picture for those Roman Christians who feel this centuries-old schism can some how be set aside. Remember, in the Orthodox Church, no single person, no committee and not even a popular vote can change anything concerning the faith. Jude 3. So, it is simply impossible for the Orthodox Church to adopt the Roman position on these issues. Father Thomas Hopko fell asleep in the Lord on March 18, 2015

http://www.orthodoxphotos.com/history.shtml How old is the ORTHODOX FAITH? HEAR SOME ORTHODOX BYZANTINE CHANTS. THEY WILL HEAL YOUR SOUL. You can find plenty in my profile.
