#COP24 Hannah-Jane Interviews Charles Mutal, Ministry Of Environment and Natural Resources, Kenya

https://unccteachacademy.kartra.com/page/ClimateChangeTeacherAcademyUKSignUp We NEED a Climate Change Teacher, accredited by the UN One Climate Learn Partnership, in Every School! If you are a teacher and you want to deliver climate change lessons, all based on the existing school curriculum, so that your pupils are taught more about climate change, then this is the course for you. We NEED a Climate Change Teacher, accredited by the UN One Climate Learn Partnership, in Every School! The Climate Change Teacher Course focusses on five key areas: Introduction to Climate Change (gain a foundation of knowledge regarding climate change science. Understand the facts versus the misinformation) ; Children and Climate Change (learn how how climate change affects children worldwide); Cities and Climate Change (with more people in living our near cities we must learn how cities not only may affect climate change but also may provide solutions); Health and Climate Change (learn how changes in humidity, temperature, rainfall and natural disaster intensity and frequency contribute to rise in illness and disease); and Gender and the Environment (learn how climate change affects women and men differently and why it is so important to understand this). Here it is again: The Science of Climate Change (an Introduction to Climate Change and how to mitigate GHGs as well as how we can achieve the SDGs), Children and Climate Change, Health and Climate Change, Gender and Climate Change, Cities and Climate Change. Hannah-Jane Kenton interviews youth, their parents and teachers taking part in the #SchoolStrike4Climate. #Friday4Future. These children, their parents and teachers are all taking part because Greta Thunberg, a teenager from Sweden started a worldwide movement to force governments, leaders, those in power to be accountable for Climate Change and for us all to take personal ownership on how to mitigate Climate Change, Greenhouse Gasses and how we can work to achieve the Sustainability Development Goals our country signed up to. Hannah-Jane is documenting the children's concerns, their hopes and what they want to achieve by striking every Friday. She attended #COP24, the same event where Greta Thunberg addressed all world leaders in December 2018, and she is promoting the concept of a dedicated Climate Change Teacher, accredited by the One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership, in Every School throughout the UK and ultimately the world. Hannah-Jane is launching the trial of the Climate Change Teacher Course and is asking a teacher from every school to opt-in and to do the 8 hour online course so that pupils will receive a much more rounded and informed outline of climate change, sustainability and the green economy. Hannah-Jane says, "All pupils want to learn more about climate change and about heat trapping greenhouse gasses, mitigation and adaptation measures, CO2 solutions, how to ensure every country achieves the Global Goals they signed up to, Agenda 2030, how to deliver National Carbon Targets, the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) within the framework of the Paris Agreement and absolutely everything that we can about Sustainability with the Green Economy thrown in for good measure too. Give it ALL to us please! We may be children but we are smart and we WANT to know so that we can all work together to turn this around and to put the best people into power that will keep all Fossil Fuels in the ground where they belong."

https://unccteachacademy.kartra.com/page/ClimateChangeTeacherAcademyUKSignUp We NEED a Climate Change Teacher, accredited by the UN One Climate Learn Partnership, in Every School!

ENVIRONMENT NOW AN INDEPENDENT DEPARTMENT

02:46
The mandate of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment will soon change since the administration is seeking to establish a separate entity to deal with the matters of the environment. This is to heighten focus on the incoming oil and gas sectors and to ensure the environment sector receive due attention. Minister Harmon went on to explain that certain agencies are under the MNRE and the burden should not be borne by that ministry. There was also a vision to separate the extractive industries from the environment sector. Meanwhile, the parliamentary opposition found the decision coincidental.
