US Dollar Index – Why Use It With Forex?

US Dollar Index – Why Use It With Forex? DOWNLOAD THIS POST AS A PDF - CLICK HERE - If you trade Forex, you don’t need anybody to tell you that many of the popular currency pairs are in conditions at this time that can be tough to trade. Yes, you can emotionally trade and maybe get a winner, but for the past several weeks, finding great reasons to trade haven’t existed. There’s been choppy price action, low volatility, momentum appearing and disappearing, and all of that combined does not make our job easier. There is a tell-tale sign that conditions are not great and for that, we can look at the US Dollar Index. Dollar Index – Barometer Of Stormy Trading Conditions For those of you that are unaware, the US dollar index measures the USD against a 6 other currencies. Inside that basket, the EURUSD makes up the bulk of the measure. The top 3 currency pairs inside the basket are: EURO Japanese Yen British Pound Those currency pairs are matched up against the USD and form the bulk of the trading activity that happens in Forex. - See more at: https://www.netpicks.com/us-dollar-index/ Risk Disclosures: https://www.netpicks.com/risk-disclosure/

Which Markets To Trade? Trading Indices! 👍

10:22
Which Markets To Trade? Trading Indices http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/indices/Index-spread-betting.html PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! An Index can be defined either by what it is or what it does. It is a “basket of stocks”, but that’s about as enlightening as a set of flat-pack furniture instructions…written in Korean. What it does is let people see how well a stock market is performing. -Indices are a ‘basket of stocks’. They rise or fall depending on what happens to their constituent stocks. -Most indices use a ‘market cap weighted average’ calculation, so they are more heavily affected by large stocks than by small ones. -However a few, including the Dow Jones 30, don’t use this method. It pays to know what stocks and/or sectors are heavily represented in your index. Trading Indices Now we look at the second market you may consider trading, particularly when you are just starting out. This is the market of indices, the combination values of various countries’ markets or sectors. For instance, in America you have the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) or simply the “Dow”. This is made up of the values of the stocks of just 30 companies, and yet reflects the general state of US industry. It’s been going more than a century, and the only company that has remained on it all that time is General Electric. Other companies have been swapped out from time to time so that the index remains a good indication of the market. The companies are selected by the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal, which meets at intervals for just this purpose. The great advantage of trading the Dow is that it is cheap to trade, with a small spread – the difference between the buying and selling price or bid and offer. It’s a great place to start your trading. Also in America we have the S&P 500, which in contrast to the Dow uses the prices of the stocks of 500 companies to make up its value. When indices are made up, they usually don’t just add together the stock prices of the named companies to come to a total. They apply a weighting factor, which may for example mean that the stock price of a larger company has a larger effect on the index. The primary purpose of indices in the first place was to reflect the general investing environment, to report on how the markets are doing, so when they were set up the founders had that purpose in mind. In the UK we look to the FTSE 100 for an indication of the strength of the economy. This combines the stock prices of 100 UK companies. With some indices, such as this and the Dow, there are actually a whole range of varied “sub” indices available, covering different market sectors, different company capitalization, etc., but it is generally understood which index is meant when you use the term FTSE (footsie) or Dow. Another popular index is the DAX, which is the German market index. This tends to be more volatile than the others and thus can be hard to trade. But this also makes it more rewarding if you are up to the challenge. The French CAC is a similar sort of index, less popular than the DAX, and with slightly less volatility. Before you decide which index to use, it’s worthwhile doing a little research online. For instance, you will probably want to know whether the index is biased towards the tech industries or whether it has a predominance of banking and financial components. If you know what sectors the index tends to be weighted towards, you are better able to understand how it moves. This research is not something you have to do frequently, but it simply sets the stage for you to understand how the index value may vary over time.

ESMA Toughens Margin Rules on CFDs & Forex Trading 🚨

10:34
What do the new ESMA margin rules mean for your trading? PLEASE LIKE THIS VIDEO IF YOU FOUND IT USEFUL. IT HELPS A LOT. These ESMA rules come into effect on the 28th July 2018. The main ones are going to be the margin requirements; i.e. the leverage you can utilise when you're trading. At the moment it is pretty much the Wild West when it comes to forex; some brokers offer crazy amounts of leverage like 500:1, other brokers offer more conservative leverage rates like 200:1, 100:1 or even 50:1. In other words how much money do you need to have in your trading account to control a specific position size? If you have 1 lot of EUR/USD, say EUR10,000 - how much is that going to cost you in terms of margin? In the past this could be as little as GBP100 or as much as GBP1000 or more. These rules will broadly make brokes who are regulated in the European Union adhere to the same rules. - Margins will be fixed at 30:1 for the major currency pairs containing any two of the following: USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, CHF - Minor FX - all other currency pairs margins will be 20:1 - Major indices - UK 100, Wall Street, Germany 30, US 500, US Tech 100, EU stocks, France 40, Japan 225, Australia 200, US Dollar Index - margins will be 20:1. This is going to have a big impact on many people. - Minor Indices - all other indices margins will be 10:1 - Gold, 20:1 - Commodities, Oil and Silver - 10:1. That means no more big positions unless you have the margin to back it up. - Shares, 5:1. In the past European brokers would allow more flexibility on the bigger stocks. No more - the maximum will be fixed at 5:1 - Crypto, 2:1. Not really surprising considering the volatility but still quite harsh. Margin Changes Example Market - STAKE - PRICE - Margin Required (pre 28th July 2018) - Margin Required (from 28th July 2018) - Extra Margin Required (from 28th July 2018) EURUSD 1 1.17913 £58.96 £392.65 7x USDCHF 1 0.9839 £98.39 £327.93 7x GOLD 1 1298.50 £129.73 £648.65 5x UK100 1 7715 £38.58 £385.75 10x CRUDE OIL 1 66.50 £65.17 £651.17 10x BARCLAYS 1 215.25 £10.76 £43.04 4x APPLE 1 185.60 £928.00 £3712 4x BITCOIN 1 6985 £139.70 £349.25 2.5x The other thing is the 50% margin close out. If the total margin in an account falls more than 50% of the initial margin amount required to open the CFD position, the provider must close one or more of the CFD positions. Let's see an example. Let's say a client opens a trading account with a Forex broker, depositing EUR500 in totoal. The trader decides to open a short trade in EUR/USD, by going short 5 mini-lots (one tenth of a full lot). One full lot of EUR/USD is equivalent to €10,000, meaning 5 mini-lots are worth €5,000. Minimum margin required to open this trade: €5,000 divided by the new margin requirement (30) = EUR166.66 This is the minimum required margin to maintain the trade. Half of that amount is EUR83.33. Let's suppose the trade goes against the client, with the price of EUR/USD continuing to rise well above the entry price. If the price rises enough to net a floating loss of EUR416.67 [EUR500 - EUR83.33], the broker has to close that trade out even if the trade doesn't have a stop loss or has not yet reached the stop loss level. In theory, this means that a client’s account can never reach zero. Examples involving multiple open trades will be more complex, but will operate according to the same principles. Part 1: What the New ESMA Regulations Mean For You ❗❗ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-DxFgjA50Y Part 2: ESMA Toughens Margin Rules on CFDs & Forex Trading 🚨 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufRPOhSsaMo

The Top 3 Forex Pairs to Trade

05:50
Click here to talk to us on WhatsApp: https://traderoomplus.com/s/wa Click here to talk to use on Telegram: https://t.me/traderoomplus We're often asked, 'What are the best Forex pairs to trade and why?' In this concise video, we answer those questions by looking at the best Forex pairs to trades and why. It'll provide you with three pairs which to learn to trade and also the most relevant news and events to look at. The Forex market is the most liquid market in the world with other 5 trillion $ traded per day. This video is best for: Beginners looking to learn about profitable Forex trading, Traders deciding which Forex / currency pairs to trade, Traders wanting to understand what moves the Forex markets, Forex traders looking for help, Contents: - Why people trade Forex, - The major world currencies, - Forex basics, - What moves Forex markets? - EUR/USD, - USD/JPY, - GBP/USD (Cable), - Conclusions. We will teach you how to spread bet and trade with profitable trading strategies. We trade Forex, indices, stocks and equities in our live day trading room. To join Trade Room Plus for free, click here: http://traderoomplus.com/offers/ To join the next free live training session, click here: http://traderoomplus.com/s/2d Free membership: http://traderoomplus.com/offers/ By the end of this video, you’ll know which are the 3 best currency pairs to trade and what the most important things are which cause volatility in the currency markets. There are many pairs of currencies to choose from as you can see here. With many markets, comes many opportunities. The Forex markets are nearly open 24 hours per day from Sunday evening to Friday night. Because the markets are nearly continuously open, it allows a trader to focus upon currency pairs which suit their own personal circumstances and work / life balance. There are different economic drivers for different currency pairs. For example if you like to trade commodities like oil, you may like currency pairs which are linked to oil trading. Forex pairs are highly technical in nature and favoured by technical analysts. If you need to know more about technical analysis, click here to see our video on the best technical indicators for trading. These are the four major world currencies, the Pound, the US Dollar, the Euro and the Japanese Yen. You should always aim to trade currency pairs which has one of these currencies within them. Some basics: Forex and Currency trading are used interchangeably and mean the same thing. The currency displayed on the left is the ‘base currency’. So if you see this pair, with the Pound on the left and the US Dollar on the right – the currency pair known as ‘cable’ – you now the base currency is the pound. The currency on the right is called the ‘counter currency’. What you are betting on is whether or not the base currency will strengthen, or weaken, against the counter currency. For example, if you think the Pound will strengthen against the US Dollar and increase in value, then you would go long. What moves the Forex markets? It depends on which pair you’re looking at. The top 5 we recommend are primarily concerned with the activities of the major central banks. Central banks control monetary policy, affect inflation and employment and set interest rates. The Federal reserve in the United States has major influence over currency pairs involving the US Dollar. FOMC meetings are held 8 times per year and particular focus is upon interest rate policy. Make sure you know when these meetings occur. The Bank Of England is the central bank based in London. Meetings are regular and inflation rates are especially important to the Bank Of England as it sets an annual benchmark and target to keep inflation at a set figure. Deviations away from this figure can trigger intervention including interest rate rises and falls which cause volatility for currency pairs with Pound within them. The bank of Japan meets around 12 times per year and carries out many of the same functions as the other central banks we have mentioned. Anyone based in the UK or Europe should take note of when the meetings will occur and consider their trades and exposure if they are trading any currency pair containing the Yen. The top 3 pairs we like to look for opportunities upon are the currency pairs that are traded the most. There’s a reason they are traded the most, because they are the best to trade. With them being traded the most, it means they are the most liquid, meaning less risk of big gaps and not being filled by your broker, and you will also receive a tighter spread with your broker. The pairs offer near 24/7 trading and there are key events most traders can be around for, including the FTSE and European open, as well as the US open and close. Which is the easiest FX pair to trade? What is the best Forex pair? Most profitable Forex pair Most profitable FX pair Best currency pair Forex trading for beginners

CCI Moving Average Forex Trading Strategy 〽️

09:18
CCI and Moving Average Forex Trading Strategy. http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/course/technical-analysis.html PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! CCI stands for Commodity Channel Index indicator. Forex trading strategy of EMA with CCI. CCI is basically an oscillator technical analysis indicator. I've adjusted this strategy a little bit - we have a Pound/USD chart on a daily timescale although you can probably utilise this strategy on all the major currency pairs out there as well as Gold and some of the major indices. I have on my chart here two moving averages; both are exponential moving averages - the red one is a 50 period and the cyan on is a 25 period. I have a CCI (yellow) on the standard 20 period setting - above a 100 is overbought, below minus a 100 is oversold. I thought the moving averages were a bit low so I've tweaked them. As the quicker moving average (25) as it crosses down over the 50 period then that's the first filter to go short. We don't go short on the cross but wait until we've got an overbought reading on the CCI and only then we go short. You can also utilise this strategy on a 15 minute, hourly, 4 hourly..etc - anything below that you will probably get hammered by the noise although you could tweak the moving averages a bit. This kind of strategy makes sense to me; if you're in a downtrend, you await for a pullback against the flow of money which is the bigger downtrend... Here's another idea strategy on how to use the CCI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moN3aib6tyQ

Don’t overload your screen with indicators and display the indicators that you actually use on your charts a lot of traders overload their charts with indicators as excuse to over trade.Remember indicators are just an indication of something happening in the market they are crystal ball trying to predict the future. Don’t blame the indicators where traders and workout no matter what indicators you use your still have to take losses in trading. Two types of indicators. There are two types of markets trending and range bound or cyber to markets. A trending market looks like this but the market is moving in one direction arrange panel Cyprus market looks like this were the market is moving up and down within a specific range indicators tend to be either suited trending or range assignment markets. Indicator one RSI. The relative strength index compares the magnitude of recent gains to recent losses in the attempt to determine overbought and oversold conditions of instrument as you can see from the chart the RSI ranges from 0 to 100. Insurance is deemed to be overbought once the RSI approaches the 70 level mean that it maybe getting overvalued and is a good candidate for pullback likewise if the RSI approaches 30, then the instrument is oversold and therefore like to reverse. Traders will often use the RSI coming back out of overbought or oversold conditions as a signal to enter the market. A trade using RSI should be whether large rallies and drops in price will affect the RSI by potentially creating false buy or sell signals traders often come by the RSI such as the MACD. Indicator two MACD. Moving average convergence divergences is one of the most well-known unused indicates in technical analysis this indicator is made of two exponential moving averages which help measure momentum henchmen. These moving averages and the changing distances between them become the MACD. Convergence means the moving averages moving closer together, divergence means they’re moving away from one another. Indicator three Bollinger bands. A Bollinger band starts off as a simple moving average and has two standard deviations plotted away from it that sounds a mouthful but the important part is because standard deviation is a measure of volatility Bollinger bands adjust themselves to current market conditions. When markets become more volatile markets widen and move further away. Enjoying less volatile periods the band’s contract moving closer together. The typing of the bands of news by technical traders as an indication there may be volatility to follow. Trading with Envelopes: 5 Period Envelope Trading System ✌️

09:22
The 5 period envelope trading setup. http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/course/technical-analysis.html PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! This is a 5 period envelope trade which can be used on major indices, forex pairs and even stocks. I have a 30-minute chart with price envelopes on. This could be envelopes in your charting package or price envelopes/moving average envelopes. The idea is that the difference between envelopes and other bands is that this will stay at a fixed distance. Bollinger Bands work off standard deviation and will expand and contract accordingly. Keltner Bands are based off ATR so will also expand and contract. However price envelopes stay at a fixed percentage width. They are based off a moving average but there is a specific percentage width outside of those that the envelope will stay. The settings we use are a 5 period moving exponential average with 0.4% band width. I really want the bands from high to low to be approximately 1 daily ATR. For the Dow I know this is about 200 points... The idea of this trade is that when price breaks out of the envelope when it comes back in we are trading in a direction against the initial move for a countertrend play back to the other side of the envelope. This type of thing might work for news setups although at time you might feel you are getting late to the party. But of course you are free to tweak it. Double Stochastic Forex Trading Strategy ✌

07:50
The Double stochastic trading strategy. http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/academy/forex-stochastics.html PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! This is for forex (major pairs) but might also work on indices and very liquid stocks, we're looking at an hourly chart and is more of a day trading strategy. Stochastic Oscillator Trading Strategy Here we have AUD/USD on a 1 hour chart; I have two Stochastics on the screen as well as a 20 period exponential moving average. The first stochastic is set at percentage K - 21, percentage D - 4 with smoothing set at 10. The second stochastic is a bit quicker with percentage K - 5, percentage D - 2 and smoothing set at 2. So we have a slower stochastic (which is displayed on top here) and a faster stochastic. This means you are not relying on loads of different indicators which can work in certain conditions but can also easily confuse you. The slower stochastic is going to give you a broader overbought and oversold condition. The faster stochastic is much more sensitive so its going to trigger overbought and oversold by the little pullbacks over the broader moves.

Which Markets To Trade? Trading the Forex Markets! 👍

07:54
Which Markets to Trade? FOREX http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/forex/spread-betting-forex.html PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE! The foreign exchange market, also known as forex, currency trading, spot forex and FX; can offer attractive opportunities to spread traders, even during turbulent market conditions. The currency markets are highly liquid with the global forex market being worth some $4 trillion-a-day. If you are interested in forex trading, you can actually trade forex through financial spread betting and currencies like the euro/pound have always been popular with traders. Most spread betting providers offer trading on a wide range of major and even exotic currency pairs. The added advantage is that with your same spread betting account you can trade a wide range of other financial markets that are often impacted by fluctuations in the forex market. Trading Forex Markets: A question that always comes up when someone starts trading is what market should I trade in? And what financial instrument(s) in that market are best? It can be very confusing for a beginner, as there are just so many markets and ways of trading, and you can trade in virtually everything (even the change in house prices, if you include products such as spread betting). To start with, let’s look at the four main markets. First we have Forex, or the foreign exchange market. This is concerned with currency conversions, such as how many dollars my pound sterling can buy. Secondly, there are stock markets in all major countries, with some countries such as the US having several, and on these you can trade stocks and shares. The terms are used interchangeably, but often the word stocks is used when you have interests in several different companies, and shares when you’re talking about a particular company, e.g. shares in IBM. The third major market is indices, such as the DAX, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the FTSE, etc. These are combinations of stock prices, calculated in different ways for each and giving a general reflection on the health of a country’s economy. And fourthly, we can consider trading on commodities, which you may recognize as oil, gold, wheat, and other major goods. Which market you choose depends on a variety of factors. When you are trading, you need a measure of volatility, which is price changing, so that you can make your profit. The only exception to this is if you trade options on the underlying financial instruments, when you can make money when prices don’t move – but discussion of that is beyond the scope of this course. It is a matter of personal preference how much you want to see the price change. If you are daytrading, you need the price to move fairly often to a significant extent, but with swing trading you may be satisfied with steady price changes over several days. It comes down to how you trade and also your personal disposition. Within each of the four markets you will see differences between different products. Some will move smoothly, the prices of others may move in a jagged and erratic way. This will also vary over time, so you need to learn the market that you are trading in. Considering first the Forex market, this is huge. There are exchanges all around the world, and the market is open 24 hours a day, closing only at weekends. A large market is good for trading, because you have liquidity, which means you can easily trade at any time, and the fees and spreads will tend to be small, saving you money. The most common currencies traded on Forex are the Great British pound, the US dollar, the euro, and the Japanese yen. These can be traded in all sorts of combinations such as the EUR/USD, GBP/USD, etc. There are many other currencies available, including some called the “exotics”, but it is as well to start off trading the big ones.
