An Excel Data Table is a great way to see the results of substituting two values in a formula. For example, to see what your monthly payment will be by changing BOTH the Interest Rate and the amount that you borrow. However, reading about how to set up an Excel Data Table can be confusing. Where, exactly, do you place the Row Inputs and the Column Inputs? Seeing how a Data Table is constructed is SO much easier. I invite you to watch this short Excel Training Video Lesson to see how to set up and use an Excel Data Table to analyze your data. You can find additional resources on my website: www.thecompanyrocks.com - I look forward to your comments.

Curious what goal seek does? Find out now, because it can save you time. Read the article: https://www.xelplus.com/excel-goal-seek/ Excel's Goal Seek tool is in the Data Tools Tab as a part of What-If Analysis in the Excel Ribbon. Goal seek can be described as follows: • It is the opposite of a formula: instead of finding the end result, you give it the end result and it gives you the input • It eliminates the trial and error process • It is like guessing on speed. It’s useful for situations where you want quick answers • It is a simplified Solver The main advantage of Goal seek is that you don’t have to change your Excel formulas or turn a formula field to an input field. Follow this step by step guide and learn how to adjust your chart data and import content from cells for your chart in Excel Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Creating charts in excel is just one click away. Excel has a wide variety of presets available from 3d charts to bar graphs etc. You can even adjust the graphs and add chart titles in excel. In this tutorial we will show you how to adjust the charts and create titles from the contents of a cell in Excel. Step 1: Inserting a Chart: To create charts in excel, first of all you would have to select the data range. To do that, simply highlight the cells that you want to be included in the calculation. With that done, move over to the Insert tab from the menu ribbon on top. Here, click on "charts" and from the drop down menu select a chart for your data. Step 2: Resizing and Moving the Chart: You can move the chart anywhere in the sheet by simply dragging it with your cursor. To resize the chart, clickon the corner of the chart and drag it inwards or outwards, depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the size of the chart. If you press the "alt" key and then drag the chart, it will automatically adjust itself with the cells in the sheet so that the borders of the chart alignwith the cells, just something you might need to make your presentation a bit neater Step 3: Adding a chart with a title Go to the "design" tab and expandthe "chart layout" menu. From the drop down menu select a layout which has titles in it. Step 4: Adding Formula to the chart To add a chart title in excel, click on the title in the chartand move to the formula bar. Type in the equals to sign and click on the cell from where you want to import the data from and press enter. You can do the same thing for the title on the vertical axis as well. Notice that along with the cell number, even the sheet number is included in the formula. This means that you can import data from cells that are located in different sheets within the workbook. This way you can summarize the complete data of the workbook in one chart. Note that if you make any changes in the selected cells, the titles will be changed accordingly.

Rather than having lots of different copies of worksheets to look at different options on your spreadsheet you can use scenarios to keep them all together and create a useful summary. This is useful, for example, when you have a budget and there are a number of different variables. A lot of people make copies of the worksheets to make comparisons. Although this tutorial uses Excel 2003, it works the same on 2007 and 2010 the only difference is that you have to start it buy going to the Data tab on the Ribbon and clicking on the What-If Analysis button and choosing Scenario Manager... One of the tools in Excel that you can use to perform these calculations is a Data tool called What-If Analysis. What-If analysis allows you to see the effect that different values have in formulas. Have you ever thought, "What interest rate do I need to qualify for to have a car payment of $400 on the car I want?" This question can be answered using What-If Analysis. In this lesson, you will learn how to use a What-If Analysis tool called Goal Seek. You need a loan to buy a new car. You know how much money you want to borrow, how long of a period you want to take to pay off the loan (the term), and what payment you can afford to make each month. But what you need to know is what interest rate you need to qualify for to make the payment $400 a month. In the image below, you can see that if you didn't have interest and just divided this $20,000 into 60 monthly payments, you would pay $333.33 a month. The What-If Analysis tool will allow you to easily calculate the interest rate. If you are interested in learning more about this topic, please visit our site to view the entire tutorial on our website. It includes instructional text, informational graphics, examples, and even interactives for you to practice and apply what you've learned.

This quick tutorial shows how to use the Scenario Manager, a tool found under the What if analysis command. The tool allows you to test out multiple values to obtain a desired result. A student may ask "What if I got a 60 on Exam 3, then what would my overall average be?" You can create multiple scenarios with this tool to test "What if" for various grades. This video demonstrates testing out 60, 65, and 70 as grades for exam 3, and then look at how these scenarios changed the overall average. You can apply this to any situation where you want to try out values and see what the various results would be. Enjoy!
