Mar 7 -- There are now over 6,000 ETFs on 60 exchanges and ETFs exist for everything from corporate bonds to gold bars to oil futures. Like the USB port or a gas pump, ETFs have basically standardized the entire universe of investing so that everything under the sun now trades like shares of Apple. 5 Mistakes Investors Make with ETFs | Fidelity

04:43
In this video, learn about the five biggest mistakes that investors make when buying ETFs, or exchange-traded funds. To learn the basics about ETFs, visit https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/investment-products/etf/overview. To get started investing with ETFs, visit https://www.fidelity.com/etfs/overview To see more videos from Fidelity Investments, subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/fidelityinvestments Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fidelityinvestments Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/fidelity Google+: https://plus.google.com/+fidelity LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fidelity-investments --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let’s talk about the five biggest mistakes investors can make when buying exchange-traded funds. ETFs can be good tools for investors - when used appropriately. But with any investment, there are always things to watch out for. Number 1: Buying the Hot New Thing More than 100 new ETF products launch each year, many of them chasing the latest hot trend. Cloud computing, driverless cars, 3-D printing … you name it, there’s an ETF for that. Buying into the latest hot theme might make you big returns, but take care: These product launches may come after there has been a run up in the market. Buying at the top can be painful on the way down. Number 2: Buying Something You Don’t Understand The only thing worse than chasing the hottest trend is buying something you don’t understand. ETFs have taken institutional strategies and made them push-button-easy for everyday investors to access. Want access to commodity futures? There’s an ETF for that. 300% leverage? 200% short? Interest-rate carry plays? Yes to all. But just because you can buy something easily doesn’t mean you should. All of these funds may be good tools, but only if you know how to use them correctly. Number 3: Thinking All ETFs Are Created Equal Consider China. At the start of 2014, there were more than a dozen broad-based China ETFs. For example, had you chosen PGJ, the PowerShares Golden Dragon China ETF, at the start of the year, you would have lost more than 7% of your money. Had you instead chosen ASHR, the Deutsche Xtrackers Harvest CSI 300 China A-Shares ETF, you would have earned a 51% return. Both are “China ETFs.” Both can provide big, diversified portfolios. But ASHR has significant exposure to Chinese Ashares—largely consumer-focused stocks listed and traded on the domestic Chinese market— which performed spectacularly well in 2014. Don’t assume all ETFs are created equal. Just because two ETFs cover the same market doesn’t mean they provide the same exposure or returns. There’s no guarantee which fund will perform better in the future. But if you wanted to invest last year in the growth of the Chinese consumer and the domestic investor base there, a little bit of research would have gone a long way. Number 4: Trading…Just Because You Can Trading is central to ETFs. It’s right there in the name. But just because you can trade an ETF intraday doesn’t mean you should. Emotions are often an investor’s worst enemy. You zig when you should zag; you sell at the bottom and buy at the top. We all do sometimes. The trouble is ETFs make that even easier than traditional mutual funds. ETFs’ intraday liquidity can be great when you need to get into or out of the market quickly. But those situations are rare. Number 5: Only Using Market Orders When you do invest, consider using a limit order versus a market order. Market orders are instructions to buy or sell securities at the best possible price right now. That can work well for the most liquid ETFs, but as you move beyond the top dozen ETFs, you can find yourself getting trades executed at prices you don’t really want. Using a limit order means you agree to buy an ETF at a certain price or below, and sell it at a certain price or above. A limit order puts the control back in your hands and can help you set the price on your terms. Learn from these common mistakes to help avoid making them yourself. BEST ETFs FOR 2018

🔥The Informed Investor: http://bit.ly/TheInformedInvestor1 - I Reveal My $100,000+ Stock Portfolio and Every Trade I Make! 🔥 These are the best ETFs for 2018! I chose these 4 ETFs as the best ETFs for 2018 is because they have produced excellent returns with low volatility. ETFs are a great way to get exposed to many stocks with one security, and they are usually less volatile than picking single stocks. ETFs are the way to go for investors who want to "set it and forget it". (VUG) VANGUARD GROWTH FUND - This is the single largest holding in my own personal portfoli - Give you exposure to 313 US large cap growth companies that are relatively stable - 1 year ROI = 24.27% vs. 17.93% SP 500 - 5 year ROI = 101.57% vs. 89.06% SP 500 - Top 10 Holdings = Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Alphabet (Google), Visa, Home Depot, Coca Cola, Comcast, Philip Morris - VUG holds a good mix of large cap growth companies with a solid 1.18% dividend yield make this a staple in my portfolio. (SPY) SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust - Launched in 1993, this is literally the oldest ETF in existence, and it’s been one of the most solid over the years. - The spider S&P 500 tracks all of the companies contained within...You guessed it… the S&P 500! - 1 year ROI = 18.05% - 5 year ROI = 89.61% - Top 10 holdings are Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Johnson & Johnson, Berkshire Hathaway, JP Morgan Chase, Exxon, Google, Bank of America - This is for investors who want just a little less volatility than you would get with a growth ETF like VUG - This is a great “set it and forget it" ETF that you just add to monthly (VYM) VANGUARD High Dividend Yield - Dividend-paying stocks tend to perform better, as a group, than non-dividend stocks, and also generally do better during tough economic times. - For investors who want exposure to rock-solid dividend stocks, but don't want the guesswork and risk involved with choosing individual stocks - Invests in 401 stocks that pay higher-than-average dividend yields, and specifically excludes REITs - 1 year ROI = 12.36% - 5 year ROI= 73.34% - Top 10 holdings are microsoft, J&J, JP Morgan Chase, Exxon mobil, wells fargo, Procter & gamble, chevron, at&t, pfizer, intel - The dividend yield = 2.85% ARK ETF Trust - The ARK ETF is an actively-managed fund that focuses on companies working in next-generation sectors, like cloud computing and Big Data. It has a nice mixture of recognizable names, as well as lesser-known speculative companies. - BitCoin Investment Trust is the top holding in ARK, and this fund is banking heavily on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. While that may seem like an unnecessarily heavy risk, I believe could possibly pay off handsomely. - 1 year ROI = 85.34% - Since Oct 2014 = 139% - Top 10 holdings: bitcoin investment trust, amazon, athena health, twitter, tesla, 2U inc, netflix, nvidia, google, mercadolibre. How Do You Trade ETFs? | Fidelity

This video will teach you the basics of trading ETFs. Find out more about exchange-traded funds with us at the https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/investment-products/etf/overview To see more videos from Fidelity Investments, subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/fidelityinvestments Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fidelityinvestments Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/fidelity Google+: https://plus.google.com/+fidelity LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fidelity-investments ---------------------------------------------------- How do you trade ETFs? It’s a great question. The fact that ETFs trade on an exchange like stocks is one of their biggest selling points. It means you can trade any time the market’s open, rather than waiting until the end of the day like you do with traditional mutual funds. You can also trade an ETF the same way you would trade any stock: You can buy it on margin, if you have that feature in your account. You can even short sell most ETFs. But this liquidity comes with several costs which are important to keep in mind when you’re investing in ETFs. Let’s talk more about two of these costs…The first cost is obvious: the commission. Like with any stock, you have to pay a commission when you buy or sell an ETF. This can really add up if you trade a lot. Imagine, for instance, that each month you invest $1,000 into a basket of five different ETFs. Five times $7.95 per trade is close to 40 dollars, or 4% of your total investment. The good news is that most brokerage firms now offer a certain number of ETFs commission-free. You should consider these carefully, as saving on commissions can be a big deal. The spread is the difference between where someone is willing to buy an ETF (or a stock) at and where someone is willing to sell. For instance, if an ETF is trading at $20/share, you might see that it has an “average spread” of “$0.01.” That means you can buy the ETF for $20.01, but you can only sell it for $20.00. Another ETF might show an average spread of “$0.25,” which means you have to buy the ETF for $20.25, but you can only sell it for $20.00. The smaller the spread, the better. Lastly, it’s smart to use good basic trading practices. In general, you should consider using limit orders which are instructions to buy or sell securities at a specific price or better. But remember, if your limit is set to something unrealistic, or if the market’s moving quickly, you’ll need to monitor and adjust your limits to make sure you get your trade executed and you get the price you want – or better. So let’s review a few key points when it comes to trading ETFs: • Remember commissions. • Look at the spread. • Consider using limit orders. ETFs now make up about a quarter of all the volume on the New York Stock Exchange, so plenty of investors are trading ETFs. With a little care and effort, you can too! When to Buy Etfs OVER Stocks (6 Times When Investing In Etfs Is Better Than Picking Stocks)

09:45
When To Purchase Etfs vs Stocks. When to Buy ETFS vs Stocks (6 Times When Investing In Etfs Is Better Than Picking Stocks) By the end of this video you will have much better idea of when invest in etfs (Exchange traded funds) versus selecting individual stocks. Let’s begin 1. When the sector has a narrow dispersion of returns. Sectors that have a narrow dispersion of returns from the mean do not offer stock pickers an advantage when trying to generate market-beating returns. For example lets assume there are 100 companies in the utility sector and most of them provide an annual rate of return of 4%, because the performance of all companies in these sectors tends to be similar. This is usually true for consumer staple investments as well. Its kind of like trying to choose which McDonalds to go to. No matter which one you choose the hamburger is basically going to taste the same. Since the dispersion of returns from these kind of investments tends to be narrow or similar; picking individual stock does not offer sufficiently higher return for the risk so purchasing a utility etf or index fund might make the most sense in this example. . 2. When you want to invest in a particular market sector or industry, but you have limited knowledge of that sector or industry For example, if you believe that now is a good time to invest in the mining sector, you may want to gain specific industry exposure. However, you are concerned that some stocks might encounter political problems harming their production. In this case, it is prudent to buy into the sector rather than a specific stock, since it reduces your risk. You can still benefit from growth in the overall sector, especially if it outperforms the overall market. 3. When the performance drivers of a company are difficult to understand. These companies may possess complicated technology or processes that cause them to underperform or do well. Perhaps performance depends on the successful development and sale of a new unproven technology. You find it difficult to understand the company or industry. Chipper told me a pharmaceutical company was going to do well, but I don’t understand how they operate, and there are so many of them to choose from. Which one do I pick? Unlike in the first example where the dispersion of investment returns were narrow, the desperation of returns in this case are wide so may even more challenging to pick the winning stocks in the industry. The biotechnology industry is a good example, as many of these companies depend on the successful development and sale of a new drug. If the development of the new drug does not meet expectations in the series of trials, or the FDA does not approve the drug application, the company faces a bleak future. On the other hand, if the FDA approves the drug, investors in the company can be highly rewarded. 4. When you want instant diversification ETFs provide instant diversification relative to individual stocks. It would be challenging to have a properly diversified portfolio with 10 individual stocks, but relatively simple with the same number of ETFs. (To learn more, see 10 Ways ETFs Can Grow Your Portfolio.) 5. Invest In Hard-to-access Markets Owning gold is a pain for most individual investors; owning SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE:GLD) (which owns gold bullion) is simple. Not only does this ETF bypass the bid-ask spreads of retail gold and the expense of rolling over futures contracts, but it has no storage or security requirements. Likewise, investors can access commodities like copper, precious metals, timberland and so on through the convenient forms of ETFs. (For more, check out Commodities: The Portfolio Hedge.) 6. Less time consuming way to invest The iShares US Medical Devices ETF (NYSE:IHI) contains 40 different stocks. It would take weeks for an individual investor to do proper due diligence on each of those names, and that is one of the advantages of ETF investing. Why should I spend all my time trying to sit here and pick individual stocks? I need to get my sorceress in Diablo 2 to level 99! Because the impact and importance of any one stock is relatively small, investors can spend their time thinking about which sectors and markets are poised to perform and make investment choices without being bogged down by an overwhelming amount of initial and ongoing due diligence. THE BEST ETFs FOR 2018

04:46
Let’s talk the best ETF’s for 2018. ETF’s are a great way to enter or exist in the stock market no matter what level of investing you are. ETF’s help diversify your risk and they are very low cost compared to mutual funds. In this video I’m going to further elaborate on the best ETF’s for 2018. Obviously, there are a lot of ETF’s out there to invest in but I’m going to show you guy’s some that stood out to me as an investor. Below are my 3 best ETF’s for 2018... *1st ETF = Vanguard S & P 500 ETF: * This ETF follows the 500 extremely large companies on the NYSE or NASDAQ. It is known to be an index that is close to identical to the United States market, so if you invest in this fund you can expect returns pretty similar to the U.S market. *2nd ETF = SPDR S & P 600 small cap ETF: * This ETF tracks small cap stocks in the United States. It’s got years of history in which it beats the U.S. market. Although this stock comes with potential for higher returns compared to the 1st ETF, it also comes with more capacity for volatility and risk. *3rd ETF = Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences Index ETF: * Now this ETF comes with a lot more potential for both high returns and also high risk. This stock banks on the marijuana industry thriving in Canada but also the U.S. and Great Britain as well. Hope you enjoyed the video on my best ETF’s for 2018. Cheers guys! SMALL CAP ETFs - ANALYSIS & HOW TO INVEST IN SMALL CAPS

Now, there has been a lot of talk how even small caps are overvalued and a part of the stock market to definitely avoid even if it is tempting to search for opportunities where Wall Street is renowned for missing them. A Wall Street article was recently titled “How much are small caps overvalued?”. Let’s dig into the U.S. small cap environment to see what is going on. I’ll start by taking a look at the iShares Core S&P Small cap ETF (IJR) that tracks the S&P 600 small cap index. Small Cap performance As said, small caps usually outperform and their performance over the last 18 years has been nothing short of stellar. $10k invested in the ETF in 2000 would be now north of $50k not including any dividends while the S&P 500 is up ‘only’ 83%. A 500% performance leads many to believe the small cap environment is hugely overvalued.

Megaphone: https://cms.megaphone.fm/channel/hyperwave D. Tyler Jenks, the President, and CIO of Lucid Investment Strategies LLC developed the proprietary technical system of Hyperwave. After 40 years as an investment manager, he discovered over 300 examples of Hyperwaves within various asset classes; stocks, bonds, commodities, indexes, and cryptocurrencies. Through careful study, he invented and developed the Hyperwave Theory, which is a technical tool to analyze the Hyperwaves and determine price movements. Tyler believes that Bitcoin is currently in a Hyperwave and through these vlogs, he will educate, elucidate and explain the techniques needed to understand this powerful tool. Tyler has managed billions of dollars for Institutional Investors, Pension Funds, Hedge Funds and individual clients. He received his MBA from the University of Hawaii in 1975 and has been involved in the financial markets ever since. His background in technical analysis includes all the major techniques including a number of proprietary systems he and others created and designed. Tyler believes that Hyperwaves occur when there is a momentous shift taking place in the macroeconomic environment. Hyperwaves were formed as the world entered the Great Depression when Bretton Woods was scuttled with the US going off the gold standard in 1971, when Japan rose to world economic prominence in the 1970s and 80s, when the Nasdaq was powered by the dot-com bubble and now, with the introduction of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Amazingly, Tyler believes this newest Hyperwave could be the most significant he has ever studied. Because of the way ETFs are created and the fact that they generally hold no cash, flash crashes can be expected. Just as they blocked the oversight of OTC derivatives AFTER the LTCM derivative implosion, which led to the 2008 financial crisis, rules governing ETFs have been eased. How do you trade ETFs? | Fidelity

02:53
This video will teach you the basics of trading ETFs. Find out more about exchange-traded funds with us at the https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/investment- products/etf/overview To see more videos from Fidelity Investments, subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/fidelityinvestments Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fidelityinvestments Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/fidelity Google+: https://plus.google.com/+fidelity LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fidelity-investments How do you trade ETFs? Beyond XLF: Understanding the New SPDR Financial ETFs

XLF is easily the most popular financial ETF on the market today, but did you know it now has two new counterpart SPDR funds as well? These newly-launched products give investors more specialized options in the financial segment and could be better choices for some investors. That is because one (XLFS) only focuses on financial services, while the other, XLRE, zeros in on the real estate market. Eric Dutram takes a look at the key differences between the three funds here—XLF, XLFS, and XLRE—and highlights what investors need to know for picking the right financial fund for their needs. Top 5 Reasons To Start Trading Stocks/ETFs/Options Now! New Trader Advice - Jerry Robinson

22:43
As U.S. and global stock prices soar, more and more people are looking for ways to profit through trading stocks and ETFs. Whether it's freedom to work when you want or from where you please, stock and ETF trading is an excellent income stream that anyone can learn. As someone who has been trading stocks and options for 20 years, on today's program I will share five reasons why trading is one of the best skills you can learn, regardless of your current situation. The Top 5 Reasons To Start Trading Stocks Now 1. Time freedom. No rush hour traffic. I can play with my kids in the middle of the day, any day of the week. That’s rich. I don’t know about you but as I get older that old saying that “its all about family” takes on more wisdom than ever. That is all selfish. We can eat at restaurants and enjoy the park when everyone is at work. You can pursue your calling. 2. Freedom to travel as you please or live anywhere you want. Trading is a lightweight business. There’s no physical inventory, no customers, which means no customer service, there’s no costly rents or property taxes to pay. Honestly, I am convinced that there are few better income streams on earth than that generated by trading. When you truly learn the trade of trading, you can literally live anywhere in the world, provided you have reliable internet access. My laptop is my office. 3. Because your retirement is sooner — and more costly — than you think. Right now, most Americans either don’t have a 401k or have a 401k with a very low account balance. Of those who have a well-funded 401k plan, even many of them are stuck in poorly performing target-date mutual funds, providing sub-par returns as compared to the potential with trading. What many people hope to earn in a year, a trader can earn in one good 30 day trade. If you are running out of time, trading can make a difference by boosting your overall annual returns. 4. No cap on your potential earnings I like to keep the odds in my favor. When I work a regular 9-to-5 job, I face an upside ceiling on my earning potential. And not only is my income earning potential capped, but that income cap is determined by someone, namely, the company that employs me. But as a trader, there is no cap on the income that I can generate. And while the upside is unlimited, the downside is simply that I could lose every penny that I trade. 5. Trading is exciting and interesting. I get a rush trading stocks still after 20 years. It can easily complement your interests. For example, if you like to follow geopolitics, why not profit from that knowledge by considering trading the U.S. Oil ETF (USO)? Or maybe you would prefer to trade some other commodity ETF? I encourage my trading students to focus on a trading speciality. For example, I have about 10-15 ETFs and about 50-100 stocks that I consistently buy on new uptrends and sell on downtrends. I focus on stocks that I feel comfortable with and that I have completed my own fundamental analysis/research on. I’ll talk about fundamental analysis on a future podcast. But my larger point is that it is possible to combine your interests and even your passions with trading. How many people do know who mindlessly read the news every morning and yet never know how to process it, let alone how to profit from it? Wouldn’t it be nice if those people could earn a little bit of rent from the corporate media messaging and press releases that take up space their heads everyday? By learning the basic skill of trading, you literally empower yourself to take advantage of the news, not just be victimized by it. incoming searches: best stocks swing trading, trading stocks, stock trading, trend trading for swing traders, best swing trading software, best swing trading strategy, swing trading picks, swing trading strategies that work, swing trading education, stock trading coach

Top 10 Technology ETFs [2018/2019]

07:19
Technology stocks and ETFs is a match made in heaven! The sector mostly shows strong revenue growth, innovation, and earnings reports. I think every investor should be in tech, both in the US and China. Take a look at these ETFs and pick up companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Baidu, Tencent, Nvidia, Intel and more! Investing for all is a project seeking to provide basic information about how and where to invest in the stock market. The stock market is a safe place to put your money and has given great returns over hundreds of years. I often touch on topics such as Investing for beginners, stock recommendations, ETFs, stock market basics, how to find and evaluate new stocks etc. Stocks go up and down, don't invest simply based on what you hear or see in my videos. I might have a bias towards stocks I talk about, but I try informing my viewers when this might be the case. Contact email: [email protected] My personal stock portfolio currently consists of the following stocks: Activision Blizzard Apple Alibaba Amazon DNB BOTZ ETF Hannon Armstrong sustainable infrastructure Intel Corporation JPMorgan Lockheed Martin LIT ETF Nvidia Taktwo Interactive Vanguard small-cap growth ETF Waste Management Square Inc
