Business growth through innovation - Cofresh Snacks - A Haines Watts Client Testimonial

03:55
In this Haines Watts video, we’re talking to Priyesh Patel, Managing Director of Cofresh Snack Foods based in Leicester. Haines Watts has been helping the company to grow through innovation and in this video Priyesh delves in to the details of how we’ve come to work with the company as not only chartered accountants but trusted business advisors. Founded in Africa in the 1970s before moving to the UK, Cofresh is the UK’s No.1 leading Indian snack food company. With an annual turnover of £25million annually, we have helped the company to grow safely through a provision plan that as Priyesh puts it “meets the needs of the business”. In the video, we take a look around their facility to see how their products are made, what types of snacks they sell and get to know more about the family behind such a successful business. Priyesh talks of the help Sanjay Khullar of Haines Watts Leicester has provided help for the company over the last 10 years, much of which has helped further growth. You can see in the video how for him it has “been a pleasure working with Haines Watts.” Much of our work involves looking towards the future and how results can be achieved practically. Our knowledge in business advisory services has helped Cofresh as they’ve expanded their product range and invested more in research & development than previously. A great deal of this comes down to the proactive nature of our work. Showing the production line of this new facility, you can see how Haines Watts has helped improved efficiencies for the company and how we’re always a phone call away for providing management consultancy and “all the services [you] need” for your business. Growth through innovation – why you should use a Business Growth Specialist

02:23
Growth through innovation – why you should use a Business Growth Specialist? Continuous business growth is not inevitable or indefinitely sustainable. The growth of a business may involve innovating products and ways of working, which could include: • launching new products • growing the workforce • optimising management • testing new markets But there may come a time when there is no internal solution for stimulating the further growth desired. At this time, the leadership may begin to look for opportunities to acquire, or to look outside for partners. Integrating the know-how of complementary organisations can generate more successful innovations quicker, and their resources can contribute to the development of new prototypes. However, there are risks. For some companies, this may demand a fundamental re-thinking of existing processes and structures. The business growth specialists will help you decide whether the potential advantages outweigh possible risks and disadvantages. Leading a business and delivering success through this stage of growth is challenging. The return on investment in time and money spent pursuing external opportunities for growth depends on how successfully the businesses can be integrated, ways of working combined, and the people motivated to work together in new high performing teams. A reputable management consultancy can help you: • Develop an innovation strategy that helps you tackle your specific growth challenges • Identify potential acquisition, collaboration or partner organisations • Carry out commercial and management due-diligence • Integrate new ideas, new solutions and new ways of working • Whilst meeting the individual director’s duties Are you in need of driving growth through innovation, or considering collaboration and partnerships with complementary organisations? Business Innovation, Improve Your Business with Strategic Innovation | Tony Robbins Podcast

Business Innovation, Improve Your Business with Strategic Innovation - Tony Robbins Podcast This Tony Robbins Podcast teaches strategic innovation so your business can improve and create value that puts you ahead of the competition. Do you own or manage your own business? Are you full of ideas for new products or services but unsure if you can succeed in your industry? The key to carving out a niche for yourself is not only creating something new and exciting for your customers, but in developing something that adds value to the lives of your consumers in a way that hasn’t been done before. In this nearly hour-long podcast, Tony Robbins discusses how you can become a leader in your field via business innovation. Some people spend more time working on developing their business than they do with their loved ones. With this in mind, shouldn’t your work life be worth it? Tony Robbins believes that by transforming your business, you can transform your life. Within the strategic innovation podcast, Tony discusses real-life examples of major corporations, such as Apple, Amazon and more, that identified barriers in their way and found creative ways around them. By identifying their setbacks, these major brands were able to not only find creative solutions to their problems, but establish themselves as leaders in their industries. With the knowledge provided in this podcast, you, too, can work toward carving out a profitable niche for yourself. When looking to create a business innovation, it’s essential to find unique ways to provide more value than anyone else can. Let’s make something clear though — strategic innovation is different than never-ending improvement. You want to reshape the landscape of your business and revitalize your industry by providing customers with something new. Consumers expect, and appreciate, a constant evolution of improvement, not just different iterations of the same thing over and over. Strategic innovation gives you the power to create the company you’ve always dreamed of. Innovation is something many business owners think about, but few execute successfully. Tony Robbins says that the key to a successful business strategy is to utilize innovation and marketing techniques, because you need to be able to bring something to the table that gives you a competitive advantage. For more information on how to change the way your business strategy functions for the better, listen to the podcast in its entirety. Business Growth: What Is An Innovative Business Strategy

31:56
Welcome to At The Sharp End - Yorkshire's weekly business innovation show, where we believe innovation is the key to business growth. In today's episode Ian Sharp (Director, Khemeia Consulting) is joined by Jon Stephenson (Head of Business Insights, Khemeia Consulting) to talk about what is an innovative business strategy. In this episode, you will discover: • What is a business strategy • How can you make your business strategy innovative • Examples of innovative business strategies Show Notes 1. Learning From GE General Electric (GE) is a very successful global infrastructure, finance and media company. They have recently expanded from their traditional business processes and entered into the online business world. Perhaps it's a little surprising for a large company such as GE to innovate their business processes (having already being so successful). GE however, have innovation at the heart of their culture and thus as a result GE have enjoyed much more success via innovating its business processes. 2. Learning From GoPro Over the last 10 years, GoPro have become infamous with extreme sports and outdoor adventures. As a result the company has accumulated nearly a billion dollars over the last 10 year- despite being late to the HD camera market. GoPro's monetary success is incredible but what is perhaps more incredible is how they have positioned themselves as a company. GoPro is a lifestyle not just a company. “Life is either an incredible adventure or it’s nothing at all” - GoPro 3. Innovating Your Business Strategy Innovating can be hard for a business that is already successful. But just like GE did, you can't look at innovation as unnecessary change. Rather see it as evolving your business for the future. Before trying to innovate your business strategy, you must actually know where you want your business to go exactly. Consider questions such as, do you want to go international? Do you want more than 50 staff in your business? Be sure to catch Haroon's Hangout LIVE Wednesday @10am GMT on Google Hangouts. http://www.khemeiaconsulting.com/haroonshangout.php 4. What is Cocoon? Cocoon is a security application. The device enables you to monitor your house from a security standpoint. It is very easy to set up and can be controlled via an app on your smartphone. Cocoon is so innovative, it's dangerous. They have innovated a rather boring and un-innovated industry such as home security. This shows innovative is possible in whatever industry you're in. Links https://cocoon.life https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cocoon-smart-simple-home-security QUESTION OF THE WEEK: This week's question comes from Phil from Bradford. Q: When is it the right time for a business owner to devolve responsibility and bring in expertise into the team to allow me to focus on the business growth? Jon: Anytime is a good time to bring in an external consultant. Consultant's can offer impartial advise without any company politics. Ian: It totally depends on the business owner and the objectives of the business. The business objectives will tell you what decisions need to be made and when they need to be done by. That's why we said earlier how important it is as a business owner to know the vision and future of your business. Tune In Next Week 'How To Deal With Difficult Staff' At The Sharp End presented by Khemeia Consulting - where we believe innovation is the key to business growth. #AtTheSharpEnd

CLICK BELOW FOR FULL SHOW NOTES / LINKS: http://www.khemeiaconsulting.com/the-innovation-process-finding-a-business-coach SHOW NOTES: 1. What Is A Business Coach? “An impartial, critical friend” says Sharp. Finding a business coach is never easy. It’s not just about the knowledge / expertise a coach has, it’s about how you get along with a coach. The dynamics of the relationship have to be right otherwise, it’s not going to work. The coach may have the right expertise and knowledge to help grow your business but if you don’t get along with them, the relationship will not be fruitful. 2. All Star Coach: Ian Sharp Ian Sharp, Khemeia Director, is a qualified Growth Accelerator Coach and Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) Consultant. Over his career he’s helped many startups grow, obtain funding and trained others. 3. Why Hire A Business Coach Hiring a business coach can only mean one thing; you want to further grow your business. It does not mean that your business is failing. Hiring a business coach is not a sign of weakness it's a sign of wisdom. Hiring a business coach just means you want to take things to the next level and you may need someone outside the business to bounce ideas off. 4. Steps To Finding Your Perfect Business Coach Step 1 Before searching for a coach, think about what it is you would like them to do? Of course it is to grow your business, but how? Will it be via cutting costs - if so which ones? Or will it be by increasing sales - if so what method? Step 2 Get in touch with Growth Accelerator. Depending on what kind of expertise you want, there are various strands within GA. Business Strategy: What Is An Innovative Business Growth Strategy

24:46
Welcome to At The Sharp End - Yorkshire's weekly business innovation show, where we believe innovation is the key to business growth. In today's episode Ian Sharp (Director, Khemeia Consulting) is joined by Haroon Rashid  (Head of Digital Marketing, Khemeia Consulting) to talk about what is an innovative business growth strategy. In this episode, you will discover: • What is a growth strategy • Why innovation should be part of your strategy • Examples of innovative business strategies SHOW NOTES 1. Jade Logistics / Jade Baby Care Haroon talks about one of his clients, Jade Logistics [LINK]. Jade delivery and build flat pack furniture (from cots to beds to wardrobes). After working with the company, Haroon talks about how he switched the company’'s attention from its traditional logistics perspective to a more customer-focused perspective. They have come up with a very innovative and personalised approach to reach their existing customers with video. This small innovative tweak will have a big impact as it helps retain existing customers but also has the power of generating quality referrals. Everyone loves a personalised video! 2. Getting Innovative Ideas - Customer Feedback This is one of the best ways to grow your business. Such information can often provide great insight into what your customers actually want from you and thus give you advice on what you should be offering your customers. Therefore it’s important to alter your business processes so that it is able to gather and analyse such information, which in turn will help you improve on your existing processes. - The S-Curve Dave Power (president of Power Strategy) has written a great blog, ‘Innovation Strategy: 4 Key Tactics of Top Growth Companies’. In it he talks about finding the next S-curve. This concurs with everything we have been saying to our clients at Khemeia. It’'s the idea of finding the next big thing. We have always believed in not just staying ahead of the curve but in being the ones who create that next curve. 3. Movy Haroon tells us of how he'’s recently been extremely impressed by an up and coming social media tool, Movy [LINK]. Movy is a video messaging app. It has been featured on Fox Business News and has seen impressive growth over the last few months. This growth is down to the innovative approach they have. Lorrie Guerrieri of Movy sent Haroon a Movy (video) inviting him to join the app. However Lorrie had done her homework and mentioned that she had spent about 10 minutes going through Haroon’s Google+ posts. She knew her customer. Haroon was the right customer for the app. Haroon’s interest was sparked because it was something different. We all get standard emails but how many of us get a personal video? Because Lorrie had correctly ascertained that Haroon was their customer, Haroon went ahead and joined the app. (He’s been having a lot of fun too!) 4. Emedding an Innovative Culture Here at Khemeia we believe innovation comes from the top down. It’'s no good having an innovative workforce but the senior members of staff are not willing to try out different things because they are too risk averse. The Directors need to recognise the importance and necessity of innovation and then empower it’s workforce to innovate by giving them the freedom and the autonomy to try out new things. Create a forum where senior management are able to comment on new ideas suggested and then filter through the ideas in order to pick the best one. 5. Implementing the idea Truthfully, generating ideas if the easiest part of innovation. The hardest part is when you have to actually execute those ideas! Too often we see and hear people looking for the next idea when they haven’t implemented the first idea they had. If you are doing that, then you’'re only stunting your growth because growth occurs when ideas are implemented. At The Sharp End presented by the Khemeia Network and Khemeia Consulting - where we believe innovation is the key to business growth. #AtTheSharpEnd

How to Grow Your Business? What is Innovation? - Frank Given

31:50
How to grow your business? And what role can innovation play in building your company? Sustainability and compliance consultant Frank Given shared his business expertise during a ProfileTree Business Leaders video interview. Frank, Director of Close Focus Limited, also discussed how to ‘pivot’ your business (ie, make a substantial change to its business plan). He began by explaining the work of his company and a little of his own working history: “Close Focus Limited is a consultancy practice based here in Northern Ireland working predominantly across Northern Ireland but also into the south of Ireland and across the UK as well. “We started the company about three and half years ago, after I had been working in the south of Ireland and South Africa and a few other places as well. When I came back home and moved in with my partner Ruth we set up shop in Bangor, and we’ve been growing from there. “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind journey to be honest with you, but it’s going in the right direction.” Frank outlined the three main activities carried out by his company, specifically research work on behalf of clients, looking at key technical issues or key industry segments being considered by the client. Advice is provided as a follow-up from this, as well as training. How can these services be used for business growth? “Small businesses are getting pulled apart, there’s every type of technical service you could imagine and there’s every type of support package you could imagine. “It’s often a bit overwhelming for businesses, so understanding where they can go to get the right advice early on and be able to map that journey is key to them being able to grow their business in a more structured way, so they’re not caught short in terms of finance and have all the processes in place to grow and scale properly.” Frank encouraged the creation, and ongoing development of a good business plan. “My business plan started off as a one pager, and it has quickly developed beyond that. It is a key document in my business and it helps me articulate what I’m doing, where we’re going and, as I grow my business and look for additional help and support, what I’m going to go for. “So I’m not pulled from pillar to post, as it were.” Frank’s company helps clients by looking at these factors plus help with understanding the right support packages available to the business. “There’s a wealth of funding options for businesses in Northern Ireland, it’s knowing which ones are right for you at the right time. There are lots of them that look very attractive early on, but they aren’t right for your business. They’ll be great to go on, they’ll take up a lot of your time but they won’t actually add any real value for your business.” To discover more see Frank’s full ProfileTree video interview. Close Focus Limited - https://www.close-focus.co.uk/ ProfileTree - https://www.profiletree.com/ --- Have you ever thought about what is innovation and why it might be important for your business? Innovation can be simply defined as a new idea, creative thoughts, new imaginations in the form of a device or a method. The thing is that innovation is always viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs. Understanding the meaning of innovation will make it easier to understand why it is considered part of growing a business and that's what Frank Given was sharing with us through this interview about managing to grow the business and really getting to know what innovation is. Through the long talk with Frank, we also managed to know more about Brexit in Northern Ireland since he got to share lots of the information that he has (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXXEIp--B_I). In ProfileTree studio, we have conducted different several interviews with business leaders and professionals who shared their expertise, their knowledge and some important tips about the world of business with us. From these different interviews, we have talked with Drew Beckett for example who managed to tell us more about what is franchise business (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRePjECRnb4&t=506s) and we also conducted an interview with Robert Conlon who talked with us about the international business development (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh8fFbkZe7g&t=422s). Growth through lazy innovation | Georgia Lala | TEDxAuckland

09:49
As a 13 year old, Georgia Lala wanted to change the world – but says she was just too lazy. So she started a journey of lazy innovation: world changing ideas that can happen with minimal effort, sometimes right on your kitchen bench. Georgia is trying to change the way we look at sustainability. Her award winning research into the applications of aquaponics won her the Prime Minister’s Future Scientist award, and at the age of 18 she started her own business, Root Aquaponics, where she hopes to start selling aquaponic units she designed to homes and schools in New Zealand. An environmentalist at heart, Georgia has led sustainability expos to educate others on the importance of future proofing today’s industries, and has been invited as a guest speaker at community events. Georgia hopes to challenge the way individuals and companies look at adopting sustainable approaches to both production and living. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
