Pros and cons of that $10,000 Amazon delivery business offer

Pros and cons of that $10,000 Amazon delivery business offer: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pros-and-cons-of-amazon-delivery-business-offer/. Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbE5Qqp8QzWYH234U2VZ27g?sub_confirmation=1  If you've always dreamed of starting your own business, Amazon (AMZN) has a deal for you. But you may want to think twice before you accept it. In an effort to ensure the Seattle-based company can make good on its increasingly demanding product delivery schedule, Amazon is offering to help set you up in the delivery business.  With an initial investment of as little as $10,000, the company says it can get you leased vans, insurance, gas cards and training to launch your own delivery fleet. The site also promises to be your first – and, possibly, only – customer. A delivery fleet owner with 20 to 40 vans can potentially earn $300,000 a year, Amazon says. "Individual owners can build their business knowing they will have delivery volume from Amazon, access to the company's sophisticated delivery technology, hands-on training, and discounts on a suite of assets and services, including vehicle leases and comprehensive insurance," Amazon said in a press release Thursday. The catch? There's no guarantee that you'll make a $300,000 profit – or any profit, for that matter. In fact, you may be able to earn more on an hourly basis by simply delivering packages on your own, without investing the time and money required to start your own enterprise.  The costs of working with Amazon are so substantial that independent delivery companies are increasingly turning away Amazon's business, says Peter Schlactus, co-founder of the Association for Delivery Drivers. The reason: Amazon requires that delivery companies hire their drivers as employees, rather than work with independent contractors.  "The challenges of doing delivery work for Amazon have taken many dozens of delivery owners by surprise," Schlactus says. "My read is that Amazon is doing this to address a dwindling supply of independent delivery companies who are willing and able to work with them." Why is Amazon's requirement that you hire, rather than contract with, drivers so onerous? Because it subjects the delivery company to a wide array of expenses, from employment taxes, workers compensation and unemployment insurance levies, as well as to substantial additional liability. "If an independent contractor gets into an accident, they cover the damages and liability from their own insurance," says Schlactus. "If they are your employee, you are liable." Worse, he says, if your van is emblazoned with an Amazon logo, it may put a target on your back. "When people see a major company's logo on your van, they won't hesitate to make a claim and to make a claim more aggressively than if they think they are dealing with a small business with limited resources," he says. Then, too, to make the kind of money Amazon is talking about requires an extraordinary amount of work. You've got to find 20 to 40 fit and responsible individuals with good driving records to operate your vans, do background checks and process employment paperwork and then manage the mind-boggling job of scheduling not only their time, but the #Pros, #cons, #that, #10000Amazon, #delivery, #business, #offer #amazondelivery, #smallbusiness, #Amazon, #entrepreneurs, #deliverypackages, #NASDAQAMZN, #US, #business

This Drone Startup Is Beating Amazon at Deliveries

03:28
Oct. 5 -- If you're wondering what the future of shopping will be like, look no further than the outskirts of Reno, where a little startup called Flirtey is working on delivering packages to doorsteps with drones. They have a partnership with convenience store chain 7-Eleven and are experimenting first with over-the-counter medications to save parents with sick children a late-night run to the store. But the drone deliveries are made in insulated boxes, so a chili dog and slurpee dropping from the sky to your home is within reach.

Find the Amazon DSP application at the link below: http://toughdecisions.net/amazon-package-delivery-application-process-how-to-from-start-to-finish/ Amazon Delivery Startup Application Process – How-To From Start to Finish In late June 2018, Amazon launched a new package delivery service called Amazon Delivery Service Partners (DSP) program. Don’t confuse this service with the Amazon Flex program. Amazon Flex is where you can deliver packages for Amazon out of your own vehicle, in select larger markets, and get paid an hourly rate for this service. Amazon DSP is where you can become your own boss and get on a path to becoming an entrepreneur by owning your own business alongside the largest online retailer in the country. Start Up Costs start at: $10,000 Potential Annual Revenue: $1mil to $4.5mil Annual Owner-share Profit: $75k-$300k *These figures come directly from Amazon’s DSP brochure – June 2018 Owning your own business can be a daunting task but it does have it’s rewards too. If you have never owned your own business then this might be a bit of a struggle for you in the beginning but Amazon has amazing systems, including best-in-class logistics technology, in place that will allow you to get the business started and making it profitable sooner rather than later. Here 5 Key Advantages To Start Partnering with Amazon’s Delivery Service as a DSP: 1) Very low start up costs You can get started with your very first route for as small as a $10,000 investment. This is almost unheard of in any industry when starting a new company. Many companies will require at least $250k. 2) Not experience in logistics is required As an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, you will leverage Amazon’s technology and processes. They will provide you with hands-on logistics training and it’s all based on Amazon’s 20 years of logistics and package preparation and delivery experience. 3) No Sales People Needed – Amazon has built in customers to keep you busy In most businesses, you need a sales force to continue operating. No more! As an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, you will be able to focus on your people by hiring a great team of delivery drivers for your new company. This allows you to constantly be working on your business instead of always just working in your business to find that next customer. 4) Amazon is known for customer support and they provide this to you As you start your new Amazon package delivery service, they will provide you with hands-on training and then continue to support you through on-demand support to make sure your new amazon package service runs smoothly. 5) You get to help “deliver smiles” Thousands of loyal Amazon customers smile every day when they receive their packages at their doors. You will be aligned with the most customer-centric company on Earth and this will allow your business the advantage of growing fast. Find our more about this opportunity by visiting Amazon Delivery Service Partner program page http://toughdecisions.net/amazon-package-delivery-application-process-how-to-from-start-to-finish/ Is becoming an Amazon DSP the right opportunity for you? You must be a people person and have the necessary skills to manage a team of 20-40 people delivering packages everyday of the year. That’s right, you will be responsible for making sure the smooth delivery of packages 7 days a week and 365 days a year. As an Amazon DSP owner, you will be responsible for hiring a solid, hardworking team and coaching this team in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. http://toughdecisions.net/amazon-package-delivery-application-process-how-to-from-start-to-finish/

Amazon Wants You to Start a Business As a Package Delivery Driver

News Today Tv 🔔 CONTACT US: [email protected] Subscribe to follow news today tv 🚫 If you have any problem with copyright issues, please CONTACT US DIRECTLY before doing anything, or question please write to me in email. Thank you verry much!  Amazon’s ever-expanding retail empire is going to need more workers and vehicles to get millions of packages to shoppers’ doors. To do so, the web retailer is encouraging people to start their own delivery businesses.  For those in the U.S. willing to strike out on their own in the service of the e-commerce giant, Amazon will offer financial and operational support, the Seattle-based company said in a statement. Startup costs can be as low as $10,000 and they will get access to discounted trucks, uniforms, fuel, insurance and other resources, Amazon said.  Amazon has been working on ways to expand delivery capacity, from leasing its own cargo planes to experimenting with drones. It’s also working on ways to move merchandise directly from merchants to consumers to avoid overwhelming its own warehouses with inventory, according to documents reviewed by Bloomberg. While Amazon has long relied on the U.S. Postal Service, United Parcel Service Inc. and FedEx Corp., it has also sought to gain more control over the logistics of package delivery, using its own technology and data-crunching abilities as well as facilities and transport to move packages around more efficiently.  “Customer demand is higher than ever and we have a need to build more capacity,” Dave Clark, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, said in the statement.  Those who succeed in the new delivery program can earn as much as $300,000 in annual profit by operating a fleet of as many as 40 delivery vehicles, according to Amazon. They will be able to build their businesses knowing that Amazon will provide shipment delivery volume and give them access to “sophisticated delivery technology,” the company said.  It’s also offering military veterans who qualify $10,000 in reimbursements to get their own delivery business started.  Amazon has employed independent contractors in the past to handle packages, especially during busy holiday shopping periods. Individuals can also sign up for a program called Amazon Flex to deliver merchandise using their own vehicles, earning $18 to $25 an hour. With the new startup initiative, the online store will be able to boost its shipment capacity while putting Amazon-branded vehicles and uniforms on the streets.

Amazon Testing Drone Delivery System

01:20
Support My Channel By Shopping on Amazon! http://amzn.to/2atadUZ SUBSCRIBE https://goo.gl/OXghgH https://www.facebook.com/deejay.gabriel.7 Amazon's chief executive has revealed that the company is testing a new service involving delivery by mini-drones to get packages to customers in just 30 minutes. Jeff Bezos appeared on CBS television's 60 Minutes programme in the US where he played a video from their website showing tiny robotic devices, called 'octocopters', picking up items in small yellow buckets and whizzing them through the air. "I know this looks like science fiction. It's not," Mr Bezos said. "We can do half-hour delivery ... and we can carry objects, we think, up to five pounds which covers 86% of the items that we deliver." The mini-drones are powered by electric motors and could cover areas within a 10-mile radius of fulfillment centres, thus covering a significant portion of the population in urban areas in the US. The retail giant's ambitious project still requires additional safety testing and federal approval but Mr Bezos estimated that Amazon 'Prime Air', as it would be called, would be up and running in four to five years. They operate autonomously and drop the items at the target locations thanks to GPS coordinates transmitted to them. "It's very green, it's better than driving trucks around," said Mr Bezos. Amazon said the octocopters would be "ready to enter commercial operations as soon as the necessary regulations are in place," noting that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was actively working on rules for unmanned aerial vehicles. It projected a more optimistic timeline than Mr Bezos himself for the project to be activated, saying the FAA's rules could be in place as early as 2015 and that Amazon Prime Air would be ready at that time. Mr Bezos hinted that part of the motivation behind the mini-drones was to make sure Amazon remains on the cutting edge of the retail industry. "Companies have short life spans ... And Amazon will be disrupted one day," he said. "I would love for it to be after I'm dead." It is not known if there are plans for the service to be launched outside of the US.

Inside Flex—Amazon's Army Of Everyday Delivery People (HBO)

05:56
Amazon just had its best Prime day ever. The company sold more than 100 million products over a 36-hour period, bragging in a press release that it was the “biggest shopping event in Amazon history.” But a massive shopping event like Prime Day is only in possible in part because of Amazon’s Flex program, which recruits everyday people to deliver Amazon packages for a modest wage. That's because the most expensive part of delivering a package is getting it from a local warehouse to a customer's doorstep. Amazon’s Flex program helps reduce that cost by hiring delivery drivers as independent contractors. VICE News followed a married couple in Phoenix, AZ, who use Flex as their primary source of income. “[Flex] saved our lives,” Beverly Karpinski, 64, told VICE News. “For three months we had no income except for my husband’s social security check, and one day I was on Craigslist and I saw Amazon was hiring independent delivery drivers.” Karpinski and her husband, Ed, both signed up for Flex and have been delivering packages for more than a year. In Arizona, the Karpinski’s make about $18 an hour before expenses. You don’t need any qualifications to drive for Flex: just pass a background check and have a valid driver's license. Due to the driver’s independent contractor status, Amazon doesn’t provide any benefits like healthcare or paid time off. Amazon says Flex drivers across the country make $18-$25 an hour, but that doesn’t include gas or car maintenance. Amazon declined to provide any details about how many Flex drivers Amazon hires, or how many fulfillment centers across the country support Flex, but an Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the company leverages its malleable Flex workforce in order to compensate for Prime Day. The spokesperson also confirmed that the delivery route given to Flex drivers is generated by an Amazon algorithm. Could Amazon Take Over The Delivery Market?

00:38
Business Insider speculates that Amazon could soon over take UPS and FedEx in the delivery market. Outside of the US Postal Service (USPS), FedEx and UPS have dominated the domestic logistics industry. But rapidly rising volumes have put FedEx and UPS of legacy shippers in a bind. UPS struggled to bring consumers their parcels on time due to higher-than-anticipated package volume. Amazon is uniquely well-positioned to dethrone UPS and FedEx's duopoly. It's built up a strong logistics infrastructure, counting hundreds of warehouses and thousands of delivery trucks. Amazon has a wealth of consumer data on consumers that it can use to personalize delivery experiences. https://www.businessinsider.com/the-amazon-fulfillment-report-2018-11 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Business using http://wochit.com

Amazon opens its grocery delivery service to Amazon Business customers

02:42
Amazon opens its grocery delivery service to Amazon Business customers, Amazon Business, the retailer's free program for business customers, fast shipping, discounts and purchase approvals, is now expanding to include grocery delivery from AmazonFresh. That means businesses can stock their employee break rooms with fresh goods, like produce, plus groceries and other items from local stores. The news was first announced in an email to Business customers on Wednesday, which was spotted by GeekWire. We've since confirmed this to be a new addition to the Business program, though it's essentially the same experience that's available to consumer customers. Like the consumer version of AmazonFresh service, Amazon Business customers will need to take advantage of grocery delivery. Prime costs $ 99 per year, while AmazonFresh is sold at $ 14.99 monthly subscription added on top of Prime. Business customers can link their individual accounts to their Amazon Business accounts, which will be required to place AmazonFresh orders.

Are you looking for a job? If you're watching this video, you're part of a small percentage of people that care about the values and principles of their employer; this is a well known success factor in employee performance and tenure. However, you're competing with many others that apply in bulk for the same position; so how do you capitalize on your time investment? Be proactive! when applying And during interviews, be sure to let recruiters and hiring managers know that you watched this! --- 1. Customer obsession: start with the customer and work backwards; work vigorously to earn and keep customer trust; pay attention to competitors, but keep obsessing over customers 2. Ownership: think like an owner, long term and don’t sacrifice long-term value for short-term results; act on behalf of the entire company, not just for your own team; never say “that’s not my job" 3. Invent and simplify: expect and require innovation and invention from your team and always find ways to simplify; be externally aware, always look for new ideas from everywhere, and don’t be limited by “not invented here" 4. Leaders are right a lot 1:52 : you have strong judgment and good instincts; you seek diverse perspectives and work to disconfirm your beliefs 5. Frugality 3:50 : accomplish more with less. Constraints breed resourcefulness, self-sufficiency and invention. There are no extra points for growing headcount, budget size or fixed expense 6. Hire and develop the best 5:01 : raise the performance bar with every hire and promotion; recognize exceptional talent, and willingly move them throughout the organization; develop leaders and take seriously your role in coaching others 7. Earn trust 5:05 : listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully. Be vocally self-critical, even when doing so is awkward or embarrassing; leaders do not believe their or their team’s body odor smells of perfume; benchmark yourself and your team against the best. 8. Insist on the highest standards 7:42 : you have relentlessly high standards - many may think these standards are unreasonably high; you are continually raising the bar and driving your team to deliver high quality products, services and processes; defects do not get sent down the line and problems are fixed so they stay fixed 9. Bias for action 11:34 : speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk taking. 10. Learn and be curious 11:34 : you are never done learning and you always seek to improve; you are curious about new possibilities and act to explore them 11. Have backbone. Disagree and commit 13:26 : respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting; have conviction and be tenacious; do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion; once a decision is determined, commit to it. 12. Dive deep 13:26 : operate at all levels, stay connected to the details, audit frequently, and be skeptical when metrics and anecdote differ. No task is beneath you. 13. Think big 16:04 : thinking small is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Create and communicate a bold direction that inspires results. Think differently and look around corners for ways to serve customers. 14. Deliver results 16:04 : focus on the key inputs for your business and deliver with the right quality and in a timely fashion; despite setbacks, rise to the occasion and never settle
